Brace yourselves Indian,an $30Mn "stealth" aircraft coming from nowhere is going to equip en masse the PAF and the BAF and are going to rape the entire IAF. Should we believe that.
Oh no doubt, those 4.5++ gen Su-35s the PLAAF are buying are purely for static display purposes- not because the Chinese are woefully lagging behind with the only noteble "home grown" effort to date having been the 3.5+ gen JF-17 "Super MiG-21".

ToT- what meaningful ToT has India got from Russia? To this day the Russians are screwing India with the MKI and production is at an abysmal 12-15 a year. Dassualt is willing to tie up with a PRIVATE partner in India and deliver 16+ Rafales a year and will allow for true ToT on critical tech such as the AESA radar and engine.
Did u read the report on HAL manufacturing is super poor, there is a 100% in price and twice the time required to make jet ,it high time government makes HAL a better company, may be complete revamp. As for as I know Dassualt said they are ready for assembly of critical components but no ToT.

1) Cost- the Rafale will cost less to fly, operate and buy than the paper plane FGFA and whilst doing so will deliver higher levels of availabilty. If 75% is the best the IAF can get for the MKIs, I shudder to think how low the FGFA's availbilty will be (let's hope it is above 50%).

If IAF will be as professional in service as VKS are, then position 1 can be scrapped for sure.
position 2 is rediculous as France has no G5 tech at all and even G4 tech cannot be transferred.

The same MiG-35 that was kicked out of the IAF's MMRCA competiton on TECHNICAL grounds that the Rafale won, that MiG-35? If you're talking about who will see who first- the MiG-35s pilots will pressing "eject" before they ever press "fire" on a Rafale with all its sensors engaged- all things being equal. There is nothing the MiG-35 possess to defeat the SPECTRA suite.
Dude, early-backed export MiG-35 and fully matured MiG-35S for VKS are quite a different birds even for airframe...

TATA Advanced and Mahindra Aerospace etc. private Cos are getting involved in these manufacturing fastly. Who will care about HAL?

Yeah tell this to Libiyans to have a good laugh.

Poorly trained Libiyan Militia was able to detect,Lock on and fired at Rafale by obsolete SA 8.

So much for spectra LAMO.

P.S - @mods can we keep Rafale fanboy posts in appropriate thread.
Oh well, I am really happy to know about this ! Tired of hearing that Americans had obliterated Lybian defences with waves of cruise missiles, before Rafale entered lybian airspace.

Now, tell us, what has gone wrong with these SAM 8 ? All Rafale made it home in Saint Dizier without a scratch .

Have ready the requirement for FGFA, it was suppose to have maintenance of about 50% of Su 30 and 50% of per flight cost of Su 30 .

I'm only basing this on facts- the very best Sukhoi can promise the IAF after 17+ years of localised prodcution in India is 75% availabilty of the MKI fleet. If you think a G5 plane as large as the FGFA is going to offer better availabity than a 4.5 gen fighter then you are being disingenuous.

It's a proven FACT the Rafale costs less to fly per hour (and requires less maintainence for every 1 flight hour) than the flankers.

position 2 is rediculous as France has no G5 tech at all and even G4 tech cannot be transferred.
Man, you don't know anything then. The Rafale incorporates a number of G5 features and has functions that not even the F-22, let aone the PAK-FA/FGFA, has.

Ask yourselves, without using the words "fanboy, lobbyist, kickbacks" why despite the overwhelming superiority of the MKI that the IAF has intimate knowledge of and the paper plane FGFA that India is meant to be a "partner" of, the IAF is STILL so interested in the Rafale? Hmmm??

Thanks to the French intervention, this country went from total chaos, ethnic cleansings and each others slaughtering to stability with fair elections and a new president.
There are various role players (That saw French army's deployment as against their interests) that want to accuse France of nonsense things. One day we are peadophiles, one day we are rapists, and the other we are zoophiles. Why didn't we get such accusations in Afghanistan,Mali ? And basically,in our 200 overseas operations since the end of the war in Algeria ?

The funds allowed to the air force to maintain aircrafts are under what is needed.
While the availability rate is lower in France,it is near 90-100% in operations. (And this including AdlA and MN's Rafales.)
Yeah, all the places where Frenchies appear get drawn in blood, rapes and toilets.
Lybia and Mali are a great examples

Rafale was the first to kicked out from MMRCA at tech evaluation phase.

Google it.

What "sa 8" is he talking about ?
May I remind this butthurt kid that France sent its air force to strike targets in Libya way before the Americans fired tomahawks.
All Kaddhafi's air defence systems were jammed by the Rafale, and as you said, all came back home safe!!

Waiting for Su 30 made in TATA and Mahindra..................................
that will never going to be happen .. Lets stop the Su 30 MKI production in 272, and start working on improving it's reliability and service availability,

So far I heard the Su 30 MKI availability still on around 60%-70% only

Yeah and it was also meant to be in the IAF's hands from 2014 and the Vikramditya was only meant to cost India $1BN USD (inflate this by 250% for the final cost) and be in service by 2009 (entered service in 2015). I don't beleive a word the Russians have to say when it comes to dealing with India- they have consistently misled India, under delivered and used India as a cash cow.

I would love for someone to explain to me how the FGFA, a G5 plane of the same size as the MKI, but with many times more complex systems/airframe is going to cost LESS to fly and be EASIER to maintain when every real world example points to the exact OPPOSITE. The F-22 costs about 3 times as much as an F-15 to fly per hour and requires about 4-5 times as much maintainence. So Russia, a nation that has consistently underdelivered and offered abysmal availabilty has somehow unlocked some magic formula for success and is going to do what the world leaders the US couldn't even do? Please.....

The FGFA won't be in service before 2025, by that point the IAF will be lucky if it can get them for less than $200 million each (the Super 30s are going to cost >$120 MIllion) and if they deliver 50% availabilty rates.

Sukhoi is a design company ,critical components from russia are supplied by Irkut and the rest by HAL.We have talked endless it ,if Su 30 gets grounded due to lack of spare ,IAF then order it ,then it is produce ,a gap of 2 months and half what HAL is crap takes 4 months to make and are rejected .I say let TATA take over from HAL .

HAL has the exclusive licence for MKI production in India so it will never happen. Furthermore Russia is all to happy to keep dealing with HAL- Kamov have signed up with HAL to make the Ka-226T in India whereas Airbus Military has a JV with Mahindra to make helicopters in India and a JV with TATA to make the C-295W in India and Dassualt is working to build the Rafale with a PRIVATE partner in India.

Cost and time reduces by 20 and 15% respectively compared to any T-10 derivative are the main requirements for PAK FA. I don't see reasons (except HAL incompetence) to not achieve this on FGFA.
