Even M2000 in IAF has servicability rates approaching 90%.
And the same M2000 fleet of IAF was grounded due to lack of spares.. Lack of spares means lack of servicibility and availability, this is 2014 news
So I am not sure when this 90% number was from. What the report said that though some of the Mirage 2000 are being upgraded, almost a quarter of the fleet is grounded due to lack of spares..
Lack of spares here means 0 availability.

So the Indian MMRCA tender was the turning point for Dassault.

Official communication from Dassault

Qatar has chosen the Rafale
Saint-Cloud, France, April 30, 2015 - Dassault Aviation is honored by Qatar's decision
to acquire 24 Rafale aircraft to equip its Air Force.
The contract between the State of Qatar and Dassault Aviation is to be signed on
Monday, May 4 in Doha in the presence of Mr. François Hollande, President of the
French Republic.
Following on from the Mirage F1, the Alpha Jet and the Mirage 2000, the Rafale is set
to extend the historic partnership between Qatar, France and Dassault Aviation.
"This new success for the French team demonstrates the Rafale's operational
qualities and confirms the confidence that countries, that are already users of the
Mirage 2000, have in our company", said Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of
Dassault Aviation.
Dassault Aviation, its partners Thales and Safran, and the 500 companies associated
with the Rafale programme, are delighted at the announcement of this new contract,
constituting further proof of their competitiveness and their industrial and
technological know-how.

Egypt was the turning point, they were the first ones to make a decision. MMRCA limbo hurt Dassault stocks for 3 long years.

Qatar has the Mirage 2000-5. Could we not pick it up on cheap, to plump up our numbers.

That option was already explored with UAE. The cost is prohibitive with money better spent increasing Rafale orders.

Successful first guided firing of Meteor from Rafale

On 28th April 2015, teams from the French Ministry of Defence, Dassault Aviation and MBDA carried out the first guided firing of the long-range Meteor missile against an air target from a Rafale combat aircraft. The firing, from a Rafale prepared at the DGA's Cazaux Flight Test Centre (near Bordeaux, S.W. France), proceeded successfully within the secured zone of the DGA Essais de Missiles (previously Centre d'Essais des Landes) in Biscarosse (also near Bordeaux). Following on from earlier missile separation trials carried out in 2013 and 2014, this firing represents an important milestone in the integration of Meteor onto the Rafale in line with the development of the aircraft in its next F3-R standard.

With a throttleable ramjet motor and 'fire and forget' firing mode, Meteor is intended for very long BVR (Beyond Visual Range) air defence operations. Thanks to the performance of the RBE2 AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar which equips the Rafale (the only European combat aircraft currently equipped operationally with this kind of sensor), it is able to intercept targets at very long range thereby complementing the currently deployed MICA missile used for combat and self defence. The first Meteor missiles will be delivered as of 2018 to equip the Rafales of the French Air Force and Navy.

Missile systems, defence systems - MBDA missiles

Also is the Above Rafale have the SATCOM systems, I think the white Bubble it is .

is this BVR firing done by single Rafale with full guidance or Terminal guidance done by another Rafale.!!

Also Please update about the SATCOM systems in Fighter Jets, so far how many of them employ such SATCOM systems, how it was used in war and recon missions.
@halloweene sir , Please respond to all the above Questions..

In his wide-ranging interaction with ET covering several key policy areas, Parrikar also set out the exact figure on India’s manufacturing share of the Rafale fighter jet project -France will need to spend 50% of the contract value, almost four billion dollars, as investments in the Indian defence and aerospace sector. The minister said the Rafale jet project will “unleash Make-in- India”.
Minister said the $4 billion value, making the Rafale contract valued $8 billions.

How did they get that deal Figure before the Rafale Negotiation committee draws the Value

Oh god.why dicussing this fact when you can see rafales are coming? The numbers may be 36 but it will increase to 150 in a fresh agreement(not the mmrca).if they are to scrap the deal then they would not have ordered these aircrafts.instead they have ordered somthing else.like gripen, like mig-35,like eurofighter.

36+30 is what was promised in Paris. If it goes beyond that it really depends on how much IAF falls in love with it.

36 was quoted officially. Where did this 30 figure come from?
Les Echos was running a live blog at the time of negotiations and reported confidential source heard behind close doors, 30 more orders were promised by Modi. I didn't question it as it makes perfect sense, India would not just buy 36.

.

some reports also mentioned that since last night the numbers were 63, But everyone shocked when Modi announced just 36, may be another 30 comes in second phase

from here

I learned through an informal source 24 hours before the joint press conference that it was to be 63 Rafale jets. When Modi announced the decision to buy 36 jets there was initial shock and disappointment among the French people.
from here http://thediplomat.com/2015/04/interview-indias-rafale-deal/

The Diplomat’s Sanjay Kumar spoke with senior journalist Ingrid Therwath, South Asia editor with Courrier International, a leading French magazine, about the significance of the deal for France and its relations with India, and what might lay ahead.

@pmaitra has India really bought Rafale yet, cause whatever parikkar has said seems to imply that mmrca has be dropped for G2G contract, which hasn't been signed yet or being negotiated. So India is yet to buy rafale.
I read somewhere that our defence minister Mr.Parrikar has scraped rafale project??
Is it true?
