So it's overweight and not unstable engine.
The stability of an engine can't be tested on the ground.
You will only be able to find out on the high-altitude test facility and test plane after thousands of hours tests in all kinds of working condition.

The ground tests only validate the design.

So, it is too early to say that.

There is also work in progress. Engine weight will be brought down below 1100kg.
Overweight is a big problem, it may be caused by many different reasons: design, material, manufacturing, etc.
There is no doubt that weight can be cut down. The problem is you don't know how long it will take.

The engine is stable atleast the dry engine. It has already completed High altitude flight tests. Don't worry. And when it comes to weight those who are working on it have already said alot of light weights alloys have been developed to use there which will reduce weight. This was said some years ago.

I'm curious about the weight of the engine being a problem. Are we talking about the mass of moving components (eg anything that rotates) needing to be reduced?

I do t know much but it's 1180kg of older k9 I guess. It was supposed to be 1100kg.
It was even more before 1235kg which was brought down.
Now when it will be ready it will be even below 1100kg

The engine is stable atleast the dry engine. It has already completed High altitude flight tests.
That is not enough. High altitude flight test is only part of the testing as it can only stimulate some working conditions. You will still need another 10-20 test planes to fly with this engine simultaneously for another thousands of hours.

Just check through the history of US, Soviet's history of their first generation turbofan jet engine. After high altitude testing facilities stage, both rushed into service without massive plane testing. Both of their engines were grounded due to the problems discovered in the service.

Don't worry. And when it comes to weight those who are working on it have already said alot of light weights alloys have been developed to use there which will reduce weight. This was said some years ago.
The jet engine is super complex machine. Change the weight of a single component may cause problems in other parts of engine. In some circumstances, the whole testing process has to re-start from beginning.
