I was hoping they would develop a version of MCIWS/AAR in 7.62 NATO (something similar to H&K 417 and MPT-76) but they developed a Kalashnikov variant ( something similar to Galil ACE 52) in it.

It's an INSAS deriviative that they have used for their 7.62 NATO offer.

Talking of lights at the border especially Bangladesh border, during Monsoon rainy season the lights attract lot of kede mokode & patunge that's why BSF troops are provided with special clothing and net mask for their faces.


Of course such gear don't prevent the troops from hideous Bangladeshi STINK

UNIFIL Inter Contingent SA Firing Competition was held at Ebel-El-Saqi Firing Rg, Marjayoun, South Lebanon. 14 Grenadiers Infantry Battalion Group stood over all First in the event out of 14 different countries. The battalion team bagged First Position in Rif le and Second Position in Pistol Firing event. This achievement is a reflection of high professional standards of the #IndianArmy in the international arena.

Can somebody better knowledgeable, list out the reasons why Excalibur rifle was rejected by the army. This is the only rifle which passed the stringent army test criteria. All the foreign made similar rifles failed two years back.

One source says that it's muzzle flash and sound was too much for the army to accept.

Somebody else need to do the analysis and say, how much the army was right or the greasing of the palm (bribes) took front and centre spot in this development also.

Mhow ... ahh bring back memories of live tank fire practices which is allowed to seen by public. I've been there, quite near to my home town. Now the prestigious Mhow Army base will test this rifle to it's very limits. Wish they allowed public to see live test firing of rifles as well.

ICHHAPORE (West Bengal): The indigenously developed 7.62mm x 51mm assault rifle has met the expectations of the project management team, comprising representatives from the Indian Army and defence agencies, in round one of its trials.

The team found the rifle satisfactory on all aspects, barring one adjustment that it has sought before the next round of trials. P K Agarwal, additional general manager of Rifle Factory Ishapore (RFI), confirmed that the trial was complete.
