The AKs used by IA are field tested, I don't think they would replace it with untested rifles like Ghatak or Thrichy.Build quality of the Trichy seems far better than the Ghatak. I wonder why doesn't the army use these as a stop gap arrangement till the new assault rifles are inducted. Definatlely better than the older AK-47s used by counter insurgency units
They do, but i guess they only use it for p0rnDon't OFB guys have an access to internet!
The Ak's already in service aren't bad tho. They are effective and reliable and that is what matters the most at the end of the day. For 21st century needs like mounting weapon sights or better adjustable stocks etc, we can always turn to companies like FAB Defence to upgrade the Ak stockpile we have everywhere. They do a pretty good job tbh.Build quality of the Trichy seems far better than the Ghatak. I wonder why doesn't the army use these as a stop gap arrangement till the new assault rifles are inducted. Which ever aims better is best rifle.Which one is better ... Ghatak or Trichi Assault Rifle ?
Any idea which one has better accuracy? (Hoping TAR is as reliable as Ghatak & both a sufficient power...)Which ever aims better is best rifle.
So in that case they will never replace it with any Indian gun??The AKs used by IA are field tested, I don't think they would replace it with untested rifles like Ghatak or Thrichy.
Unless IA has confidence in Indian manufactured small arms.So in that case they will never replace it with any Indian gun??

I still cringe at how the butt stock of JVPC doesn't extend *straight*! Especially when firing in *auto* the stock bends due to the force - this could drastically affect the accuracy!

Any info about MCIWS?
Muzzle break is more robust.
OFB 7.62*52

Won't they change the magazine or will they continue with the SLR magazine in the final prototype?
