These pics are pitiful, just worse quality than even a namkeen packet. ofb and DRDO should hire a bunch of guys who are decent in photoshop and taking photographs. There are bunch of them roaming around with DSLR and just doing pretty much the samething, hiring them will help drdo and ofb to get proper photos of their product and may help them to make a good company logo. In all that would help them with a positive brand building. It will create a employement too.

OFB Trichy tar is a carbon copy of Arsenal ARm1 which itself is a Bulgarian verson of original AK 47. Some of visible similarities between the two AK clones are handguard, milled reciever and gas block etc. While the difference will be on firing mechanism such as rate of fire (tar rate of fire is 650 per minute while that of ak 47 is 600 rounds per minute if the Bulgarian verson retained the same), the old tar pushes the bullets through tilting breach block rather than a rotating system in the original verson and ofcouse the butt-stock.

All these pic are of official customer of TAR but also they are using AR-M1.
Damn, you can't figure out which is AR and TAR. OFT has learnt reverse engineering?

It's actually a screw-on muzzle brake. It's slanted to cause gas to vent unevenly upwards, thereby countering part of the AK's muzzle rise in full auto and rapid-fire scenarios.

It also reduces the amount of dust kicked up when firing prone, which could give away the shooter's position.

But this is old design. You'll see more effective one on AK 74 , which is in smaller caliber 5.45x39mm. The AK 74 muzzle brake does both,recoil reduction and muzzle rise prevention.

what happens when it runs out of its 30 rounds very quickly

wouldn't a belt fed box type magazine be better for prolonged engagement without the need of reloading after 30 rounds as will be the case with insas lmg thus increasing risks to the loader
