I have a feeling that tower has more to do with EW than other things.

For landing you need optical devices and not radar.

The Fresnel lens based system is used by the landing officer to guide the aircraft on the deck. It is called Fresnel Optical landing system.
With 2.8 billion dollars, you could very well use this amount of money to build 2 brand new ones of your own......

1.4 billion dollars for one AC? Perhaps, but that doesn't include costs of setting up infrastructure, and then, you have time and experience.

Hire their engineers and skilled technicians, teach your ship builders to build( not to buy) a ship.

Btw, your earlier comment on TAVKR is wrong. TAVKR stands for Tyazholyy AVianesushchiy raketnyy KReyser which means Heavy Aircraft carrying Cruiser, nothing to do with Tactical or Strategic.

Kiev never carried the Su-33, only the Kuznetsov did.
This Soviet documentary says that Baku, aka Gorshkov, was a TAVKR, and there is no 'raketnyy' in the taxonomy.

So one source claims Baku was a Heavy Aviation Cruiser, and the other one, a Tactical Aviation Cruiser.

Rather confusing.

^^

And to add to the confusion, Baku was also, allegedly, called a Submarine Intercepting Cruiser. Dang!

Country flag
As a carrier, I thinks the station is too center on the body, why not move it to the side in the refurb. Cost too much?
if you have paid attention to the thread, then you can see that station is no where near that landing area. :frusty::frusty:
infact main island is close then the station. Pics here are not posted for fun, it meant to educate others, if you can not observe then what is point of posting such stupid posts and wasting our time in answering these questions. :frusty::frusty:

as far as underline part is concern that is must be due to fact that China has never operated AC before that is why all sorts of doubts in your mind. Well it comes with experience and carrier is not something which you can master in one or two years, it require lot of time to make it well operating machine.
