These are old article, as June is here and half gone, wanted to know if the ship has sailed out or is she still in dry dock.. I am hoping she has left dock for trial.have my finger crossed.

June, July, August for finishing... September, October for trials... Will "set sail" in November for India... Will reach India in December.

Its been long time we saw the ship, Also IN ordered new furniture, I hope to see nothing less than gold plated sink and furniture as she is going to be flag ship of IN..

Indian Carrier Sails From Russia for Final Sea Trials​

A Russian-built aircraft carrier refitted for the Indian navy has set sail for final sea trials prior to handover, a senior Russian defense industry official said Wednesday - five years after it was originally due to be delivered, and more than twice over budget.


The Vikramaditya (formerly Admiral Gorshkov), which has been refitted at the Sevmash shipyard in northern Russia, is due to he handed over in fall 2013. A mixed Russian-Indian crew is on board the warship, while the Indian sailors learn how to operate the vessel.

"The warship departed for sea trials early on Wednesday in line with the schedule," said Igor Sevastyanov, deputy head of Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport.

"Everything is alright. The ship will be delivered [to India] this fall, we cannot afford any more delays," Sevastyanov said on the sidelines of the International Maritime Defense Show (IDMS-2013) in St. Petersburg.

Yes, belongs to VVS
Yes, they will operate out of INS Hansa.
But a little correction, all 16( 12+4) of first contract for MiG 29k is complete and the delivery of second order is ongoing.
And India has already raised the first squadron of MiG 29k at Goa.

This example is one of the first original MIG-29K, Its not operational one though but placed for a reason..

MIG-29K was survived only because we Indians took this CV and gave a new life for MIG-29K, With Purchase of this CV we also placed order for this bird, Hence saved both from extinction ..

Only after IN, Russian Navy placed orders..
