Probably not; but when the Australians had their carrier shipped (on the back of a salvage barge), they were so worried about pirates that they took it all the way around Africa instead of going through Suez. Likewise, India (not being a muzzy favorite) might opt for the same; but a ship like this under its own power probably doesn't have much to worry about, even if it's not fully crewed.
Pirates will try to board an aircraft carrier? You've got to be kidding me... They need plenty of helicopters to do that (they can't board using boats) and plenty of special forces grade men.

Perhaps I should clarify, no pirates are going to board the Vik (although there is potential for other issues along the Suez route). However, pirates were a concern for Oz with their carrier since salvage ships are slow and don't have much freeboard.

It would be interesting to see what security arrangements have been made for the trip.
No security issues as such. According to my estimations, after it passes Suez canal, IN Frigates deployed in the region might escort them past Red Sea up till Gulf of Aden and there after another escort might lead it to its destination. Although it doesnt need any escort because being a flagship, no power in the region holds the potential to challenge alone that ship.

Obviously, that carrier is unfinished thus it has no defensive weapons. It has no sailors also.

Well yes, obviously.

However, I always try to see things from the Indian point of view when I'm here. So regarding the Vikramaditya... If I had a badly-needed ~$3bil dollar military asset (that isn't yet fully armed) to deliver all the way from the White Sea, I think I'd rather go the long way around rather than straight through the greatest concentration of crazies on the planet. Better a nice, quiet boat-ride around the cape whale-watching than crouched in a baking-hot gun sponson all the way from Gibraltar to the Arab Sea.

No, because the Vikra will be transiting close to Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt, all of whom recently swapped to Islamic governments. They'd all have religious reasons to side with Pakistan and political reasons to side against Russia. It would be trivial for one of them to park an LNG tanker in front of the Vikra and blow it up, or set up a couple of speedboats packed with Semtex and ram them into the carrier as it transits the cramped waters by the Suez Canal.

Also, how is this offtopic? It's pretty on-topic as it shows how India might not get its hands on a new carrier at all
Please consult your nearest psychologist Gentleman/Lady. Your statement IF taken into real account would act as an Immediate cause for India to wage a war against any respective Nation. FLAGSHIP does mean something for any Nation. Hope you are aware of that.

Just one question, what is the total capacity of carrying aircraft both below and onto the deck?

Does anyone know for sure if the N-LCA will fit this ship? The elevator looks tiny, and though the Tejas is small, I haven't heard if the wings will fold (maybe they don't need to).

Poster's not showing up, and in any case, the dimensions Vikramaditya's aircraft-lift would be more useful for settling the question of which aircraft it can operate.

I would not feel comfortable moving aircraft on that starboard gangway.
