Will modi take responsible for this? Since he so proudly inaugurated this just 2 years back? What accountability will be meted out to multiple layers of society, from the construction company to babus who signed this off? Not a serious country
Forget tunnels, just by looking at the design of the roads, you can conclude that the project design was substandard:

You can observe the same substandard and dangerous design issues in our expressways.

Lakshadweep islands set for major upgrade! India has planned a Rs 3,600-crore-plus infrastructure upgrade for the Lakshadweep islands to transform them into a tourist hub. The development includes the establishment of port facilities at Androth, Kalpeni, and Kadamat islands, as well as the construction of beachfront and peripheral roads at Kadamat Island (East), Agatti Island (East), and Kavaratti Island.

According to an ET report, the funds for these projects will be sourced from the Sagarmala scheme for port development. A total of 13 projects have been identified for the 36 Lakshadweep islands, which cover an area of 32 square kilometres and are located 220-440 km off the Kerala coast in the Arabian Sea.

Not related to India, just posting this here to give you an idea of the typical propaganda directed towards our Infra projects by West and Chinky backed NGOs and academics, but this is instead Russi propaganda directed against Polund

TLDR is Polund made a canal to bypass the need for their ships to travel through the waters of Kalinigrad which is controlled by Rooskie, this inflamed our beloved Vodka-enjoying friend's behinds badly

===================================================================================

For years, Russian news outlets have published reports criticising the project.
They cited environmental concerns alleging the project would drive local species of birds and fish towards extinction.
They also claimed it was essentially a waste of money.

After all, the canal is not yet deep enough to allow large cargo ships to pass through and therefore the investment put in would never reap the returns.

Other narratives included how the canal was a direct militaristic threat as well as an illegal project under European Union regulations.

===================================================================================

So kiddos, always know, when people scream about muh ecology, muh wildlife, "waste of money, white elephant", local people's lives will be impacted etc etc it is all jhumlaz to stop the project.

There seems to be step up in Railway Stations Design recently. But unfortunately this iteration process screwed up the First Redeveloped station Habibganj where the reality is poor replica of render. On the other hand the Bengaluru station looks super nice. Even my town Trichy Junction looks super good nowadays.

These are a part of Amrit Bharat Station redevelopment scheme, so I expect better design and quality. During Habibganj, they didn't have any proper standards and experimented randomly. In 2023, IR standardised all signages and basic design, so the new redeveloped stations will be better.

even discounting for the minister's diplomatic experience and his personality trait of being upbeat in general, the answers that were given, the current govt has put in a lot of effort to reach a stage to give answers in this manner.

The main hurdle is mobs of "protestors" not wanting a Nuclear power plant to be built, you have seen the Kundakulam nuclear project.
And if you remember, the way government handled it was fantastic. After showing some patience, the government arrested 2 French and 3 German "activists" along with some gora missionaries, deported them and banned them from entering India while lathi-charging all the protesters.

The other is that the equipment manufacturers don't want to take responsibility if something goes wrong, this is for both the US and French vendors, i.e victims can't sue the equipment vendors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaitapur_Nuclear_Power_Project#Nuclear_liability
I was talking about indigenous reactors. Our indigenous ones were activated in Kakrapar about a month ago. We are also at an advanced stage of negotiating more nuclear plants from Russia, which remains the oldest player in our market.

Third is getting Uranium isn't as ez and pz as you make it sound, France has sourced uranium from it's pseudo-colony Niger quite easily https://www.lemonde.fr/en/les-decod...t-is-france-on-niger-s-uranium_6080772_8.html
Don't know from where we will have to import from
Kazakhstan, Namibia, Russia, and Australia are our principal uranium suppliers. India even has mining rights in Namibia.

You can observe the same substandard and dangerous design issues in our expressways.
1. Clearly this infrastructure was done in a rush to accommodate G20 event.
2. Delhi PWD is under khujliwal.
3. Urban planning and road design including intersection planning, pedestrian safety and landscape design are all non-existent as there is no educated talent appointed to have ownership over such issues even in metropolitan cities.
4. Central and state governments think that urban development means adding more metro lines. They have zero plans for beautification of old city areas which is the #1 reason for foreign tourists.
5. Municipal bodies need to be able to generate billions in their own funds to develop cities to modern standards.
6. Redevelopment of railway stations and TOD is a good start but this is not enough. High streets for retail, large open squares for people to mix around, food streets, well planned parking in all these areas is all missing.
7. Riverfront development is barely there and city rivera are just one step above sewage.

Overall India needs close to a $1 trillion over 10 years to develop top 100-200 cities. I dont aee anything being done to raise money and put in place an institutional framework to rapidly develop cities from all angles.

This is a major area where the Modi government has 100%failed with no vision as well as futuristic thinking. For India to be vikasit wr need a large number of world class cities. Hope Modi in his 3rd term brings about a shaharmala. You cannot use your local contractors. You need big companies with world class experience in urban development and design executing these projects.

During inauguration, Modi took all the credit and his ministers even claimed that the entire project was funded by Central govt.

So, now it's time to face the heat. Cannot blame khujliwal now.

Other than this, I agree with your points.

Local contractors? This tunnel was constructed by L&T.
