This area of Ahmedabad is shaping up very nicely. None of these buildings or in the background existed 10 years back. There are no slums, very little colonies and just a tsunami of midrise residential buildings. If only AMC bothered to build properly landscaped roads and footpaths, along with public green parks, this would be a first world area. I wonder why Indian municipalities do not bother with the most basic. Housing prices here are pretty cheap. 2BHK (1100sqft) goes for around 50 lakhs, while the newest construction 3000 sqft 4BHK houses go for 1.5crore and above. These prices are still not cheap considering the average income of even urban Indians, but the situation is much better than other cities in the country.
Doesn't matter whether we follow Soviet Model or European Model or American Model or East Asian Model of Infrastructure planning, you know the end of it. All of them are habitable and acceptable. But, everyone of them will fail with babus at helm.
Scroll through this page. Look at Moscow's current boom and residential planning. This is a good model for Indian cities to build planned townships. Very similar to Chinese/Koreans but the buildings look nicer IMO. And the construction costs are surprisingly low.
Ya'll Nibbiars not going to start operations before 2034. Will take a decade to realize if they are serious.![]()

Ya'll Nibbiars One farmer done suicide back in 2017 and the project collapsed. MADC lacks PR and outreach, and the Media and opposition grew fears in the local populations. Why a decade. Jewar was approved in 2018 and will start operations this year.
Airport land acquisitions make even medium farmers/landowners crorepatis overnight - what is the big deal? They need to follow the template of Mumbai-Nagpur expressway.Ya'll Nibbiars One farmer done suicide back in 2017 and the project collapsed. Ya'll Nibbiars The process is not transparent nor clear, in NMIA they got the 22.5 percent of developed land parcel at pushpak Nagar and plot against demolished homes, no cash amounts. So many got pray to the land mafia and got fractions of amount of what the scheme land parcels were. Can't expect farmers to hold 22.5 percent land parcels without any substance income. Even at Purandar the form if compensation is no clears not the MADC has mad any subsequent recah or PR campagin.Airport land acquisitions make even medium farmers/landowners crorepatis overnight - what is the big deal? I get the opposition to railway projects but airports, highways and ports are a different ball game altogether - farmers get to make a fortune here.
Ya'll Nibbiars By then works would had already started and no new government can be fully formed before next year as election will not be held before late November, Difficult for a state government to stop a central government project without going into the courts, HC already sided with JNPA.Can they put the stone before loosing power?
Since Uddhav sena is going to undo everything and ask bollywoodiyas to praise them in twitter. Also our People loves BDSM a lot.
