Damn that’s not good, IA is decades behind even here it seems. It's a Russian thing we seem to be still holding on to it some aren't some units have ditched mag grip
If units like 9 and others can move on I am sure others will move on too soon ( heard mag grips are great when clearing stairs)Damn that’s not good, IA is decades behind even here it seems.
Operation Pawan was the code name assigned to operations by the Indian Peace Keeping Force to take control of Jaffna from the LTTE in late 1987.[3] Kumar and his group were assigned to patrol dominant areas in Tamil. Five Tamil militants fired and killed five soldiers from Kumar's squad. In return, Kumar and the remaining soldiers of his squad followed the militants into the house of an MLA. However, the MLA opposed the action, and in the ensuing firefight the MLA, along with the five Tamil militants, was killed. This caused some controversy, and Kumar was penalised and remanded.[1]: 31 have heard about that yes...Digender Kumar was also in 10 Para and in NSG if I'm not wrong right ?

well i don't like how this sounds like ....When the team is just 6 men, everyone is in both the assault and support role of each other!
Plus all the men know emergency first response and are trained to perform life saving first aid!
Plus in some OPs their a Medic attached too
Same for K9, UAV operator and Demolition.
Meanwhile, 36 soldiers of the 10th Parachute Regiment were captured and held by the LTTE. Lt. Gen. A.S. Kalkat assigned the task of freeing them to Kumar. Kumar took with him 50 kg ammunition and some biscuits and sailed up the river. Kumar saved the soldiers (who had been held in the forest for 72 hours), destroyed an important ammunition depot, and killed 39 militants.[1]: 43 Just as a FYI in Lanka and Kargil he was with the Rajputana Rifles. Cant seem to find any mention of when he was with 10SF. He would have been quiet old when he passed selection.
His kill count over his career is probably 100+
Well for us CI/CT ops it is mate no clue what the war will bring as I have said and others too before Army has no SF in a war Paras will be used as specialised infantry only.well i don't like how this sounds like ....
this type of team compositions will work for CI/CT but during regular war ops this type of team compositions will backfire .
The question is this. Does army really need SF? What offensive situations does the IA have where it requires a Delta or Seal Team 6?Well for us CI/CT ops it is mate no clue what the war will bring as I have said and others too before Army has no SF in a war Paras will be used as specialised infantry only.
No clue if their is a thread about it probably make a threadSaars where can i post sri lanka conflict stories? Have some things to show you guys about mistakes being made and how the ltte smartly capitalized on these mistakes and they managed to inflict losses on battalions. Honestly the IPKF should’ve been less in number and taken from battalions who were in active conflict zones and not battalions who were regulating freakin golf tournaments.
And then i can show instances of battalions getting good kill counts against the LTTE.
So you don't prepare for a question that might arrive in exam in future cause someone told you it's not necessary rn?The question is this. Does army really need SF? What offensive situations does the IA have where it requires a Delta or Seal Team 6?
No, you should definitely prepare but the question is, is the army doing so? The answer is not really, the paras are neither SOF capable or really airborne capable. So you don't prepare for a question that might arrive in exam in future cause someone told you it's not necessary rn?
Take a chill pill and wait that's all I can sayNo, you should definitely prepare but the question is, is the army doing so? The answer is not really, the paras are neither SOF capable or really airborne capable.
I’d rather have the Paras revert back to their airborne capabilities and have a huge chunk of the regiment be airborne while 3 battalions are super infantry than whatever mess the current regiment is.
I think paras do not have the work case of SEALS rather i think their work area is more like MARSOC , lesser high profile ops like HRT and more vanilla ops like direct action .No, you should definitely prepare but the question is, is the army doing so? Meh, Paras for HRT. Feel like RR and infantry QRTs which have done many such ops in the 90s and early 00s should do this.I think paras do not have the work case of SEALS rather i think their work area is more like MARSOC , lesser high profile ops like HRT and more vanilla ops like direct action .
Also i think , we must setup whole Para airbone and SF like Marines where Para SF are the MARSOC and airbone are regulars .
na, Paras are confussed MFs, US SOF's have a clear mission setI think paras do not have the work case of SEALS rather i think their work area is more like MARSOC , lesser high profile ops like HRT and more vanilla ops like direct action .

One thing noob forgot to add was that each squad member is proefficient in 2 skills - a primary and secondary skill. Every squad has a medic too. Squad composition is very mission specific. So, the machine gunner is only in the support team and none in assault .
they should pump it up to 10 , add a dedicated UAV operator and a medic to each team .
Not just that, he got the killhouse renovated. Got decent equipment for the unit and introduced a lot of stuff for the soldiers of the unit back when they were airborne.@Jedi Operator remember shivendra sir from 7 para he was the one who converted 7 para to sf
Man's a fucking living legend we need more man like himNot just that, he got the killhouse renovated. Got decent equipment for the unit and introduced a lot of stuff for the soldiers of the unit back when they were airborne.
