We do any such training?
Our garud don't have experience nor training in jtac operations as compared to western nations but minimal capability exists
And no our sf don't train with other sf in tech specified mission mostly training is always based on contemporary special missions where not much tech involved

@ManhattanProject @Waanar guys could you please suggest a good hydration pack? I am asking this for a friend of mine who is in cobra. He already had an old one but says it doesnt fit under his backpack.
What kind of hydration pack does he have now?

Does it have a removable water bladder (it typically should)? Because if you're gonna be wearing a regular backpack, the idea is to take the water bladder and put it inside one of the compartments of the backpack itself - not to wear backpack on top of hydration pack.

Of course this assumes his backpack has a dedicated slot/compartment for water bladders (lot of tactical packs do come with it).

I'd suggest these videos to get up to speed with the basics surrounding hydration packing:

If he wants to wear the hydration pack separately (so that backpack can be ditched when not needed but still keep hydration, I'd suggest something with a 'flat' form factor, and something that's small enough to be worn on the SIDES of his backpack (or behind it) by attaching to MOLLE. Some examples:

This picture is perticularly interesting,
That jugaad shield support system by non other than EME (idk why Para are so reluctant on not buying new stuff) and is that a UZI thigh holster (first time seeing this with indian special forces (Marcos , para or garuds)
They should call themselves Para Jugaad Forces.

@Gessler @abingdonboy @rkhanna @ManhattanProject @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR @Waanar , other senior members and others, do y’all have more pictures or information regarding the Combat Controlller/JTAC role in the Indian SFs?
When NDTV made a documentary on GARUDs, they did show them performing JTAC role with a massive (and I mean massive) laser designator.
The designator itself must've been nearabout 30 kilos.
I'm unable to find it on YouTube. I think it got removed.
Still, this was an OLD video. Like, 10 years ago maybe.
I just hope they changed the designator. It was genuinely huge. The operator talked of it being able to mark targets out to 3-4 kilometers (iirc) and all that shenanigans.
Rest assured, GARUDs do JTAC stuff.
I don't know if they do ATC roles, although I'm pretty sure there is cross pollination between ATC officers in ground branch and GARUDs so most probably, they are capable of that as well.

Edit- FOUND IT! Someone reuploaded the video on their personal account. Watch 07:30 onwards.

The video you shared is Garud so is this the one you were referring to Para SF or another one for Para SF

Ah fuck, sorry.
I was thinking why Paras were training on that shield carrier and whether they were considering focusing on a more CT based role while writing for GARUDs and ended up writing "When NDTV made a documentary on Para SF."
Corrected.
