Noice.. You can also see a Push to Talk on his chest. BTW what's with the two Radios? @Gessler
One command net the second squad net?
Most of these handsets allow dual-channel so I doubt its for command & squad.

From what I'm thinking, probably it's for communicating with forces that use a different encryption key, like JKP or CRPF. It's unlikely Army would give JKP access to secure SF channels.

That is interesting, who knew navy clearance divers had a full fledged EOD capability? I wonder if they attach to MARCOs like USN EOD does to SEALs?
its becoming more clear now that 9 Para SF led by its CO surprised the Chinese and captured some tactically advantageous positions North of Finger 4 last August despite their "inferior" equipment and "archaic" tactics :)
No one said PARA (SF) aren’t some bada$$ soldiers.

big difference between a infantry soldier and full fledged SF operator in this day and age. Are PARA (SF) full fledged operators?

8500 crore worth of Tanks ordered.

This amount would equip all SF battalions to top level equipment.

If we were poor i wouldn't criticise..but the problem is we dumb bro.
Money isn’t the issue, it’s how it is distributed.

I don’t have any hopes of things changing for the better within PARA (SF) whilst they are under army HQ.

The IN has a dedicated special warfare command so MARCOs can make progress regardless of the indifference of IN HQ, similarly Garuds seem to have been given a freeer hand by IAF HQ to get what they need (within reason) after Pathankot.

of course INSOCOM would finally settle this but that’s at least 10 years away so fruits are 15+ years away

One command net the second squad net?
yes that’s exactly what it is. This was a briefing for commanders/team leaders and team leaders in JK often have 2 radios for this reason- to maintain comns with their unit and the higher leadership.

I don't think they are Pakis, the last guy has a MP7 and I don't think have that.
I reckon it is some kind of joint ex

Plausible explanation also but from what I understand the Security apparatus in JK are all on the same secure net

I feel as though it is the simplest explanation that it is to maintain 2 different frequencies. Yes those radios can have multiple frequencies selected but most radios will only allow you to have 1 active and another on standby. This setup allows for a team commander to have 2 channels active which will be a lot more helpful during dynamic ops

Just talked to my friend, his sibling is 2ic of 1 para (SF), he told me that our guys have HK416 and HK415s(HKMR556) in limited numbers acquired from HK USA (on request of US army)
Dude is this true or are you trolling us 😂😂😂

It is true, even a good friend of mine who writes on Quora about defense stuff etc have confirmed this.
We also have SIG516 as alternative to HK416 in our SF.

In fact i was shared a pic of SIG516 by someone but it is hidden somewhere like a needle in a haystack in my library of pics.
