So everyone have to buy by their own expense
Not possible @Aditya Ballal it will make messy for the tailor easy to think not possible to apply
The pants have to be ready made at standard sizes like how we buy from the market and altered if required. This is how most militaries who employ this do it. Unit tailor will just have to do the altering part. It is much more easier to maintain standardisation if done at the central level so there is no camo jungle, and maintain the quality too. Economies of Scale also can be achieved if done like this. How do you think other countries do this?

They didnt inherit shit, its just that devgru red squadron has a native american guy for a mascot.
@Hariharan_kalarikkal
The hatchet idea was of Red teams's then commander, later Rear Admiral Hugh W. Howard III who presented it to members of the team, the money being raised privately. It was custom-made by Daniel Winkler, a highly regarded knife maker whose hatchets normally sold for $600 each. Initially regarded as symbolic and part of team bonding, it quickly became controversial with several members of the Red team using it and Howard's own comments about "bloody the hatchet" being described variously as symbolic or being criticized as pushing his men to use it.

Bhai I don't get or understand the exact above but for officers now current height is 157 cm as different trade different height for clrk 162, havaldar or gd 169 and 170 there are two types of tailor unit one and civil don't go in conflict zones everyone has different waist sizes torso may be of same size leg different tell me knees may be at different size and height how come you standardized all non officers coming from their training are usually asthenic and bulked than lieutenants coming . It can be done for special forces unit as their size is small but for infantry bruh you know everyone makes custom combat/field pants and shirt stiched every guy has atleast one now telling tailor to put the adjustability of kneepads that out of question he doesn't have that skill nor the machinery .
Simple question, how do you buy readymade pants in a retail shop and alter it as per your needs? This too works the same way.

Pants that cyre precision has which has adjustable knee pads integrated has limited production that too quality matter now in India where are you gona make it that too for whole infantry now that troop comfort and ....(ofb) quality standards you know
Question is not about readymade it's about knee pads that tooo adjustable out of know where in India who gonna make it ofb current troop comfort ? that too military grade besides you should know it's rare for a military guy to have a ready made field/combat zone pants they give it for customisation they buy the cloth
If there is demand people will make it, it is not a denied piece of technology, so far it’s never been asked so no one has ever made it, either someone will partner with a foreign firm or they will copy a foreign design or develop their own system.
Who will make it depends on how army will decide to handle the procurement, whether through competitive bidding or nomination, just because Troop Comforts can’t make it right now does not mean we can’t not ask for it, if they want to stay relevant they will find a way to make it.
If army wants to modernise they need to learn how to change and can’t stick to their old ways of it being too “difficult”.
Will you say the same if OFB can’t make anything other than a slightly modernised INSAS, do want the army to buy only INSAS and not anything revolutionary or are you not going to search for someone who can?

Well quality also matters everyone has different height so knee placement on hands and legs will defer also you don't want stiching b/w pant and pads to be stuck in branch or bushes
Ahh yes stuck on branches, must be why all the special forces in the world use them, even normal units now. They love getting stuck on brush. You know human body isnt as diverse as you think it is when it comes to knee placement. According to their height the knee is going to relatively be in the same area. What you see sticking out of the pants isnt the only place being protected.
If you wear a proper sized pant, for 99.9% of the people the pads will work

I agree with you , it'll be not that difficult to put pads on specific points measuring around a few inches on a specific body part . Plus sizes are present , much like what school tailors make , and the customer has to choose his size range . We should be happy that we're not having the girdir bands in the pants , or it'll be hella uncomfortable

“Special Forces Element operating with 32 RR(Gorkha Rifles) Battalion”.
Square cut plate carriers, olive planet? Looks like he has worn the carrier such that the carrier straps go underneath his shoulder tabs. Wouldnt that make hard to take it on and off in a hurry?
Edit* I like the new pouches alot.

Sirji I would request you to talk to any AAC pilot on their NVG capabilities in the fleet, their training levels on the same and their ability to apply those NVGs in SOF battlefield spectrum (i.e nap of the earth flying )

Our BMPs don't have NVGs.

Again SF soldiers having NODs is one tiny piece of night fighting. Across the logistics chain er have near zero capability. Even if we have it now it's new and nacasent and will take us sometime to master it on a combined arms level.

Taking an SOF solider in isolation and removing him from a combined arms set up is mising the forest for the trees. All the Gucci gear in the world will not result in a quantum jump in capability

ALH and WSI is fully capable and integrated for night flying using ANVIS night sights. They have adequate no.s.

Cheetah and chetak are not night flg capable. Still they do practice night flg. Surprisingly they also have ANVIS night sights.

Indian BMP IIs - 90% are upgraded with Israeli TSIK sight and the commanders sight is upgraded by BHEL TKN 3B sight.

Now what?

Shoulder tabs and epaulettes would be a thing of the past after the uniform changes
I believe they'll switch the ranks to the chest instead
