He speaks about the surgical strikes in 2015:
1. The attack on IA troops took place on the 5th and the op was launched on the 6th, and eventual strike happened on 9th.
2. His team was launched from Manipur, another team in Nagaland also launched or was supposed to launch is not very clear.
3. The troops had flown in from Delhi and had one night to get ready for the op(not sure why, was this another unit or 21's elements were in Delhi)
3. The camp was located about 5-6km from the IB.
4. 60-70 militants were present.
5. The camp was far away from civilian population centers and Myanmar army.
6. While ingress they found 2 hunters who they took with themselves as they did not know the exact location of the camp and had only a brief idea of it being nearby the river.
7. They had support elements (kukis) from either army's CSIU or state intelligence.
8. After 21 para sf he was to take over 31AR, which operated in the area from where the strikes took place he was advised by Gen Rawat to pick another unit as there was intel regarding threat to his life.
Also about Manipur situation:
1. He was a person who could communicate with both sides.
2. This situation happened because the police wasn't strong and trained.
3. He advised the CM to create a special unit of 500-600 people along the lines of Punjab SOG, trained by SF NCOs and JCOs.
4. Says weapons is not a problem, getting an AK is very easy. He estimates about 5000+ weapons out there being used in the civil war situation. And if and when the fight between kuki and metei stops, these guns would not be returned willingly by militants and create a serious law and order problem loot, killings etc. Additionally, if Myanmar moves towards peace their weapons will flow into India.
5. Disagreements and lack of synergy between police and AR is present regarding interfering in each other areas.
6. Advised CM to show parity in targeting militants on both sides and not just one.
