This is general comment. These should not be used in any form in any services in the country.
No disagreements. It’s a shame that 71 war relics are being used in 23. Also, ban useless tactics like frontal charges. This isn’t 1960

Very informative man. I also watched the Jungle load video above.

Normal soldiers there get lot of equipment as standard issue when they go out of base. Fire making equipment, water boiling equipment (jet boil), medical kit, night vision sights, ballistic helmets, plate carriers, COMTACS, GPS, compass, signalling devices, head torch, combat belt, side arm, multipurpose tools / knives, gun scopes etc all are standard issue to every soldier. I don't think I have seen Indian soldiers with most of these things at most of the times, at least in photographs. Heck, we don't even see most of the soldiers with ballistic helmets. Still using fibre helmets or patka. Our armed forces are in pathetic situation.

I have one more question. Though I understand that more specialised equipment would vary as per mission. Do their special forces get any more equipment than a normal infantry (as listed above) as standard issue, irrespective of mission? Or the basic equipment of both of them are same?

Special forces in the west in general can get anything they want within reason. Heck they were even carrying personal handguns back in the days, dont know anymore. When training they just drop their mags there is no compulsion to bring them back, just get more no question asked.(training in actual locations)

Got enough badges and high visibility ranks on there? Part of SF is to protect OPSEC and personal details right?

Just normal third world military things, no such thing as a silent professional in the Indian military
Indias not even a military just a milita at this point

This has massive military implications for the infantry. Augmented reality goggles, if ruggedised, can be connected with night vision, or other external sensors to give troops far better situational awareness. They can also eventually have a feature wereby an enemy if spotted is highlighted on everyone's goggles live, or friendly forces can be highlighted in a different shade to avoid friendly fire, or even have drones and other sensors filling in information directly.

Augmented reality combined with rifle fire control systems will be the future of the infantry. It'll start with special forces.

Why not we do modernization in Para SF by unit wise and excluding the recently converted Start with 9 then ,4,1,21,10 from my pov Make them Proper SOF units rest should be made Airborne no more SF units
There are people giving endless suggestions, here @abingdonboy says to disband them completely and start up again. The truth is you really need to understand the decision for higher ups to make. They dont seem to be remotely interested

You think we aren't already working on that? :p

Not going to say more on this, but the company I'm doing an internship in is making something like the Microsoft Hololens for the Indian defense sphere

I will be very surprised if a Infantry or SF Major or captain would have any idea about new technology or even 50% knowledge of a average SF thread poster here.

Major jacobs knowledge is biggest example of that.
I have trust in the Majors and captains, its the brigadiers and above I have zero faith in
