I hope the US units really start beating down Indian units the need to develop night fighting capabilities. Look at all the US rifles, all of them have LAD, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NSG weapon with a LAD on it and at most they have monocular NODs
Is there any instance of usage of peq15 (5B/5C) among Indian forces ?? I have seen mostly peq2s

Aren't those individual radio sets different/ better from the older walkie-talkie kind of stuff? Are these SDRs??
and now they place it ergonomically on the back while doing the operation, isn't it a bit NATOiszed ?

Occasionally AN/PEQ-15s are seen with RR and PARA.

These are most of the pictures online you will find of AN/PEQ-15s or Steiner DBALs you’ll see in India, barring the SPG ones.

Can anyone source the PCs 4th , 5th, 6th and 7th snaps . I'm unable to find them . Also the 7th snap is the cleanest high res pic of the pc

Sorry sir but those weren't regular "walkie talkies"
Motorola GP338s are very versatile in enviornments we usually saw these guys in...multiple orgs/urban setting is where those p25 radios work smooth as F.
They support upto 128 channels, came with VHF and UHF settings.
They also had a good amount of older L3 falcons but those didnt offer much of a package in urban scenarios in which interoperability is required while they were used on LRRPs etc.
These newer ones are a formidable weapon.
Speaking of radio placement, it's all about the antenna placement and comfort of the operative, given that these falcon 3s are a powerful package, you dont need an antenna relocation kit (so as to place your radio as per your comfort without sacrificing the capabilities)

Steiner DBALs are exclusively used by 9 and 4 SF.
11,12 and a few regular paras (now SF) use peq 15 too.
Peq 2s actually came in the package that included m4a1s.

Trivial fact - steiner DBALs, heavily painted m4s and tavors are things exclusive to 9 SF.
Digging deeper, they have been known to improvise a lot of stuff both technical and mechanical to their needs.
These guys actually live up to the hype they have (they probably have the craziest probation too)

It's nothing NATOsized . It's more convenient and flexible to place the main radio backwards since it doesn't hinder arm movement and reduces the chances of entanglement of wires with pouches . And it's a handsfree so that's a big plus for SDRs. These are probably the same SDRs demonstrated last year after Black Hornet drone purchase , so L3 Harris

I remmeber this tech being discussed on WAFF maybe 12-13 years ago. The Russians have another Anti Sniper system that spits out lasers covering a certain AoA and whenever the Lasers hit an optic/Lens they bounce back giving the location of a sniper. (recalling from memory) Dont know if its reached man portable usage yet.
