Could that officer be from the Special Group? The assertion that he might be a sapper could be true, I haven't seen their cap badge.

He can be from IAF Garud ..

They too use maroon beret, IAF generally use old Indian army camo but they dont have dedicated camo..

Agreed- but can you make out what arm of the IA this guy belongs to sir??

he looks like army commando from some other country, may be visiting.

his cap insignia does not match with para commando insignia on cap. Other hint is his uniform.
Since I don't have a MP.net account I could not reply to the doubts there.

The Camo is NOT the digital marpat camo(bought off-the self like the ACU for the MARCOS) used by the CRPF, or the semi-arid flecktarn camo pattern used by the BSF, it seems to be a completely new digital version of the 4-colour Army arid pattern.

Only time will confirm if this is the case when more pics of the a-forementioned camo emerge.

That is a most interesting assertion mate, hadn't considered this. It certainly looks very similar to the USMC's jungle MARPAT but the resolution is pretty poor so you could be right. Any source behind this or just a guess sir?

Hmmm, well I guess there's always that possibility but then we'd never know- would we? An interesting thing I heard not long ago was that whenever the IA is introducing brand new kit the SG will get to "play" with it first- this was the case with the M4s, the Tavors, the new BPJs, the new Helmets, the new comm sets etc etc so could this be true for camo as well? Is this guy SG and he'd trying out what will be the IA's new camo in the future? Possibly being rolled out in the next few years under the F-INSAS project?

Very intriguing questions.................

Never heard about any CAPF commandos being given wings as they are not trained for para jumps.I think thats PARA coz all other seems to be PARA plus we had seen many type of other camos used by PARA which are not seen with rest of army plus i personally had seen a person from para unit wearing maroon beret in an all different camo in coimbatore last year which i had never seen in any online pics.
