Third guy from the left. He is definitely Indian Army but doesn't seem to be part of the PARA regmt (beret cap badge). What's the story behind his camo I wonder?

@Kunal Biswas @ALBY @sayareakd @Snuggy321 @Ray thoughts?

Same USMC jungle MARPAT pattern the CRPF COBRA's wear.

BSF camo:

CRPF COBRA camo (jungle MARPAT):

To me, it is 100% the latter sir.

But yeah, never seen this in IA service as of yet. The guy is wearing airborne wings, a maroon beret and IA ranks- points to IA. Never seen a CAPF with any of the above.

His outfit also very odd, Looks like marpet ..
Indeed and he is wearing it in the "Western fashion" ie fatigues out and not tucked in as the IA has inherited from the Brits. But he is for sure IA so the question is- what is this all about???

he looks like army commando from some other country, may be visiting.

his cap insignia does not match with para commando insignia on cap. Other hint is his uniform.

I thought that at first but I don't think so. All of this man's insignia are IA- his rank appears to be Major, his airborne wings are 100% IA. The wings worn above his medal bar are worn by a couple of crouching IA soldiers (possible NSG/SAG badge?). His name badge is even typical IA.

Wrt the cap badge not belonging to the PARA regmt (SF and regular PARAs have the same cap badge FYI) doesn't mean much sir. In the IA many non-PARA units wear the maroon beret as they are airborne-qualified as such you have combat engineers, infantrymen, medics, signalers etc etc wearing the maroon beret in the IA.

These guys are airborne sappers belonging to a para brigade:

This guy is IA in my mind- no doubt about it.

The pattern of the camouflage uniform is no giveaway of the Force people are from.

The cap badge and the para insignia is!
