Agreed- they should be used only for PM, deputy PM, President and Vice Pres cover. I gues Gandhis are a special case but I would prefer if they didn't have SPG cover.
SPG's job, as per the newly amended act is only to protect the PM, his close family members and former PMs and thr kins for 10 years since going out of office. SPG cover to a fmr PM/ his kins can be extended to an unlimited period if govt sees enuf reasons to do so (as in the Gandhi's case). They don't provide security to Dy PM, VP or Prez.

Yes, PM is fine but politicians like the Gandhis & moreover Vadra enjoying SPG cover is outrageously unfair. A Z plus cover would do for them.
Hell no, they are in more danger than the PM.
Imagine the devastation if a shoe with cow dung or worse black tar on its soles crashes into the head of the "fair and lovely" imported Queen Sonia Gandhi, or worse still if someone plants his handprint of his knuckle print on the face of the everyoung Rahul baba. What would happen to this country?

The MARCOS itself has two types of classifications;ie basic MARCOS and advanced MARCOS.
Those all men who successfully complete the 9 month marcos course are called basic MARCOS.
To get entitled for advanced MARCOS a marine commando should have at least 3 years experience.

i think Marcos are the best they rule land, sea and air.
I beg to disagree. That tag should IMHO belong to the SG, its a ghost unit, with no real mention in any government document. It is composed of specialists from all the best SFs in the country. We never hear about them but for all practical purposes they are the reason why the terrorists are on the run in POK.

Considering the covert nature of SFF ,one couldn't rule out the superiority of it over other SF units. Also para sf too are experts inn their own field of ops.
Any way unlike other units Navy emphasizes on quality rather than quantity.

truely said sir,Now days Paras too are trained for water borne ops so are the garuds.
True Sir. Which is why in this day and age of overlapping capabilities and responsibilities, it would make more sense to bring the different SFs under a single umbrella organisation, like the JSOC.,instead of duplication and thus waste of resources.

And I have heard SPG are trained in Krav Mega so they might have been trained by Israelis. NSG have trained with Israeli SOFs yes. Mossad are a spy agency not a SOF why would they be involved in the training of/with the SPG or NSG?
The Israeli Masada Brigade which is one of the best SF in the world (including long term undercover operation in enemy territory) is under Mossad command AFAIK.
Masada is so secretive that details are rare.

Well We have always excelled in making spectacular speeches and plans without following it up with hard action on the ground. I hope we break the cycle and get our act together on these three commands, especially in this stage where we are literally sitting ducks for a cyber offensive which could knock out our air defence grid and our communications.
Btw, which method would you prefer for unification of our SFs?
a) keeping the various Spec units under their respective heads(i.e. IA/IN/IAF/RAW) with the overriding command with a solitary independent command or
B) A completely seperate command with all the spec units being removed from their parent outfits i.e. the command gaining sole authority over them?

Option B. Separate command, separate budget, separate logistics the works. India needs to follow the US model in this regard- this will dramatically increase the effectivness of the Indian SOFs.

all the 3 respective services have devoted a large chunk of their respective budget allocation and also devoted large manpower and training faciities to train their respective special forces.they would not want to lose control of them to some joint command.also government has to allocate separately for this command.
