Not really. Because Tier 1 and tier 2 units have very different roles. So training will be different. So, it can be done if some inputs and training methods are taken from intelligence and Corps of Signals to an extent. And coming to the tactical part, I think training with NSG should suffice initially, after which the said unit can develop their own methods.

I think that is the way to go. Opinions are welcome.

Tier 1 are strategic forces whereas Tier 2 are Tactical forces.

Considering we bought SOCOM kits so we might end up with good gucci equipment for our Special Forces but theres no mention for Comtacs Hope that MoD gets them coz our Special Forces are a joke.

1500 SCAR 16s/HK 416/Car 816 and 1050 SCAR 17s, 715 Mk.48s, 100 Barrett M107A1s and 100 Brownings are the only confirmed gun procurements under consideration right now. I don't know if the orders have been placed yet ar not.

Those are for AFSOD. Same will probably trickle down to SF units of the three services if they get favorable results with SOD. Otherwise, we are probably ordering Suppressors and other attachments, but I'm not sure.

I SAW for every 6 men (1 'hit') is how it is in PARA SF. So there will be 1 squad leader, 1 Comms expert, 2 riflemen, 1 SAW operator and one marksman. The leader and comms expert will form a buddy pair, SAW operator and rifleman will form another and Marksman and other rifleman another.

Is that correct @rkhanna?

Maybe this is for AFSOD, coz I don’t find reason to replace Tavor TAR-21 and Negev LMGs, they are still among the best rifles and LMGs in the world even in 2020.

Better if we use Punj Loyd and their products, since 60% of weapons on availability is from them, not to mention Israeli technology transfer, goes a long way in improving our weapons market in the future!!! As of caracal 816, I always said we need to be greedy in ToT, so much so we must be self sufficient in 10 years!! Buy 93,000 carbine from caracal, and produce another 50-100,000 units to set up a plant in India, which gives us the ToT and more importantly deplomatic leverage with UAE too!!

Yes we are, even I didn’t knew it before, afaik these T-91s are exclusively used by IAF Garud .
