To me that guy doesn't look like the average NSG optr. One of those "phantom"[i think] optrs may be?
As told by an SF guy to me, in operational areas they don't bother wearing uniform. They wear whatever suits them for the operations. They usually roam around in plain clothes, so much that they are halted in check posts and their fellow counterparts fail to recognize them until i-card is shown. No salutes too.

NSG started using KRISS Vector .45 for CQB, hopefully they are acquired for Marcos, Garuds and Para SF as well, should be ideal for hard hitting CQB.
The Vector and SIG MPX were procured, yes. But nothing to indicate it was for any purpose other than for familiarization...with the possibility of adoption down the line. In my opinion, if at all NSG wants to stick with 9mm (which they seem like they want to), the MPX is more or less a perfect replacement for the MP5.

The MPX also has an advantage in the fact that it's controls & ergonomics are extremely similar to a typical AR-15. The fire selector, bolt catch, charging handle, the location of all the important bits are modeled after an AR-15 style layout. So if NSG in the future decides in favour of a piston-driven AR-15 as the replacement for their Swiss rifles, the MPX will significantly help.

Oh, and there's nothing to suggest the Vector is a .45...not all Vectors are 45-cal and for all we know, what we had there was a 9mm version.

Literally no evidence for that from just a pic.

Not even any clarity on what the “Phantoms” do. My impression is that it’s just a designation given to the best performing recruits who get advanced training to become instructors, foreign liaisons, Air Marshals etc etc

The reason I said was cause of his clothing, doesn't look like NSG, may be SG? Operating with NSG as front. Just speculating might as well be just NSG too.

Interesting titbits from the special forces section of India's Most Fearless.

1. Our SF teams don't prefer the use of slings and prefer carrying the weapon because in their experience having a weapon slung while patrolling increases reaction time to contact.

2. One shot followed by a double tap is a pretty standard engagement protocol when it comes to engaging targets.

During the first Myanmar strike, there was intelligence available with our SF down to the meal timings of the insurgents - two meals a day at 0500hrs and 1500hrs.
The timing of the actual assault was timed with the first meal, so that most of the tangos are clustered in and around the dining tent.. and at their lowest guard.

If you are talking about shiv aroor's book ,I will recommend Nitin gokhale one which is far better ,detailed and he also says is based on facts . If you want to read about surgical strikes in detail read gokhale one .
What's the name of Nitin Gokhales book?

As per Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, their book is based on first hand accounts from the soldiers involved.

Now NSG commandos received some fresh High Cut helmets

Preparedness is the ultimate confidence builder! #CISF conducted multi agency mock exercise on armed attack @ CISF Unit ONGC Hazira involving all stakeholders; NSG, BDDS team & Local administration.
Bro when will MARCOS get some high cuts. They are in dire need of an upgrade. Also, do MARCOS use M4s or other AR-15 platform rifles??

MARCOS already have High-Cuts. As of AR-15 platforms, in operational use, no.
