But Marcos and Para SF are no anti-terror units perse. They are equipped with toys which suit their profile..Tavors in case of Para and a combination of AK103 and Tavor for Marcos.

What I want to say is we cannot explicitly compare who has the best/advanced weaponry as the more advanced weaponry may be less suitable for his role.

Micro tavor has the same range as Tavor so the close quarter combat is an added advantage.

Anti terror operation is one of many tasks handled by Marcos and Paras. Since Micro Tavors can do that as well as other tasks, it can be used as primary weapon.

Its not advance but gives same size of a MP5 carbine but carry longer barrel than a M4 carbine, X95 is not good in long range shooting like Insas or TAR-21 coz of shorter barrel but have more flexibility in small spaces, TAR-21 too is smaller yet can be used as DMR with Scope, Army needs was shorter yet longer range rifle, And CRPF only needed a rifle much shorter and moderate range with pin point accuracy so X95..

It is unfortunate we are using Micro Tavor in a non-urban environment, Trust me most of the times these buggers buy stuff on kickbacks and brochure coolness and most importantly connections....

An M-4A1 would easily cost 40,000 to 70,000... it is a much better weapon in jungle and long range enviornment, unlike micro tavor which is for very close combat urban enviornment, that is nearly 60,000 to 80,000 ruppees per piece saving over micro tavor

Micro tavor has 200m accurate and i dont know abt 500 but the guy took at 300m, Small barrel have their limitations..

TAR-21 have longer barrel can take 400-600m on ranges..

So MTAR has a range of more than 500 meters.

AFAIK Army SF and SEALS have not adopted it. I'll try to confirm that.

At longer ranges if bullets are not hitting the target you inclined it upwards to the degree you need to..

Where some other rifles you dont need to..

So TAR-21 have more, As i told Army reqired a CQB rifle with longer range as we deal with tangos on long range too, CRPF on other hand had other specs..

I believe Delta Force and H&K developed the 416, but the M4 is the normally issued weapon.

Personally, I was required to qualify annually only with the M-16 or M203. I didn't get to play with the high-speed toys.
