That is the double March, not the same as above.
Didnt know. I decided from the way they were holding their Bull pups.

Can you please give me the original link for this pic or did u take this from the CRPF website ?

I still have some doubts about the veracity of this picture.

What is your opinion about this new boots and march style.

I am happy with their load out, not very happy with the march style. Reminds me of Darth Vader or more closer to their name Cobra

The Cobra Soldiers in G.I.Joe, They look exactly like this with the big boots? Is this coincidence or someone's idea of being stupid.
well if this is real, then good night naxals............................

Instead of all this fancy costumes, a Tavor rifle and a good bullet proof vest will go a long way in saving our forces.

Is Vijayakumar listening ?

They seem to be holding IMI Tavor TAR-21 in the image below. Clearly Vijayakumar is listening and better still, doing something

I know mate. I was referring to make it the standard issue weapon to all CRPF jawans cutting across ranks and not special units alone.

Tavor TAR-21 IS a weapon for the special forces, for specialised operations, so it is not surprising that the CRPF units involved in Op Green Hunt have been equipped with these first. I believe the units deployed in Kashmir are also equipped with these..a far cry from AKs and .303 till last year or so.

While, I agree that it would be nice to see the entire CRPF contingent be armed with Tavors, not sure how practical and useful they would be for those units deployed in normal policing- such as manning checkposts, airports etc.

i think you misunderstood my post.

i said it should be issued to all jawans - across all ranks - who are indulged in COIN ops.

well guys this is AX95

and it has following specifications

Weight (Kg)
Weight (weapon only) 2.98 kg
Dimensions
Total length 580 mm

http://www.israel-weapon.com/default.asp?catid={ED781BF5-92EB-43AB-BAC7-D89BFBC28144}

Tavor 21

has following specifications

Weight (Kg)
Weight (weapon only) 3.28 kg

Dimensions
Total length 725 mm

http://www.israel-weapon.com/?catid={BDF8B480-250B-483B-8773-3C644E6C251C}

This means that AX 95 is light weight and its short length, which is advantageous in close quarter combat, specially in anti naxal operations in jungle.

^^ Indeed, the COBRAs are holding X95 or the micro Tavors instead of Tavor 21. Seems to be the right choice.

According to reports

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), [in late 2010] signed an order for the purchase of 12,000 X-95 Tavor carbines from Israel costing over Rs.1 lakh apiece.
The first shipment arrived recently.

^^^ So it is safe to say that CRPF has the most advanced rifle among Indian forces (including Marcos and Paras)

That depends on whether the Micro Tavor more advanced than the Tavor 21 ?

As sayareakd said, for anti-terror, close quarter and open area combat, Micro Tavor seems to be the preferred choice- it was designed for this very purpose.

It is, karthic.

P.S. BSF has ordered 40k Baretta Mx4. Everyone is busy with buying something except IA.
As sayareakd said, for anti-terror, close quarter and open area combat, Micro Tavor seems to be the preferred choice- it was designed for this very purpose.
But Marcos and Para SF are no anti-terror units perse. They are equipped with toys which suit their profile..Tavors in case of Para and a combination of AK103 and Tavor for Marcos.

What I want to say is we cannot explicitly compare who has the best/advanced weaponry as the more advanced weaponry may be less suitable for his role.

it is short and can be easily hidden for anti naxal operations since naxal sympathies and informers always inform naxals when they see any uniform or guns, earlier this has resulted in heavy casualties. Thus micro tavor is suitable in this type of operations.

Its not advance but gives same size of a MP5 carbine but carry longer barrel than a M4 carbine, X95 is not good in long range shooting like Insas or TAR-21 coz of shorter barrel but have more flexibility in small spaces, TAR-21 too is smaller yet can be used as DMR with Scope, Army needs was shorter yet longer range rifle, And CRPF only needed a rifle much shorter and moderate range with pin point accuracy so X95..
