@SREEKAR SIR ,

It is not an arrow,a initial which I edited out so don't read too much into it.

@ALBY bro these photos are mostly 2 to 5 years old.I believe they have similar pattern as Indian army.

SFF regular uniform

SFF combat uniform

SFF do have digital camo, but mostly in form of t shirts .I think that this will be adopted by them as well as Indian army in future for combat uniform.

Regarding the status of Indian army infantry modernization please visit the following link:
https://books.google.co.in/books?id=99NrCQAAQBAJ&pg=PT40&lpg=PT40&dq=indian+army+modular+bullet+proof+vest+trials+2015&source=bl&ots=Dywr1Qo4pt&sig=nVwci3D3SifK8phpN1fjwqJ9u4w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDgQ6AEwBWoVChMIuprol7CfyAIVFL-OCh030wdp#v=onepage&q=indian army modular bullet proof vest trials 2015&f=false

@ALBY bro no one has received anything in Indian infantry ,few things which you have seen have been bought by commanders as per the special fund allotted to them. The bullet proof vest you see in j&k are just stop gap measures and not proper modular bullet proof vest as they are supposed to be,even the helmet which is touted as new helmet is a cheap polymer copy of american m1 helmet produced by our govt psu. Please go through the link provided regarding the current status of procurement.

While other countries have completed or are on the verge of completing their futuristic infantry programmes ,we have cancelled ours.Only a miracle can place things in order now otherwise Indian Infantry modernization is a big mess.

Marcos have already adopted digital camo and modular vest, as the lead operator can be seen wearing .I have seen a photo of marcos in which more operators are wearing the same vest but I am not able to find it right now.

They must be wearing under shirt......who knows.
Elbow pads are not very small objects and if the soldier was wearing one under the shirt there would have been a very noticeable bulge.
Its ironic as the military leadership of the country heap praise on the purchase of expensive gear and weaponry but completely ignore some of the very basic requirements of the soldier.

Let's not blame everything on leadership for such minor things.

Imagine if we were part of the Mumbai Nsg Team, would you wear all the pads required for 72 hours straight without ventilation that in that Mumbai heat and humidity? Although we can't but try to put ourselves in their shoes.

I say for Indian climatic conditions, it is not possible to fulfill all fanboy expectations. Don't try to impose western concepts on our guys, our chaps are experienced to forge their own path forward.

Nuff said ......

I may be wrong but it is my view.

Operators have free choice in their kit to an extent and some may elect not to wear specific items for specific missions.

Disinformation at its best. We will be so bright and radiant that the enemy think of us as some paintball amateurs wandered across the border. :p

The Garuds are replacing the above camo it seems for something far more contemporary:
