7th PARA is designated as 7TH PARA AIRBORNE SF...:p...just to get them also the SF preveilages..:D
Oh yes that "great" move a Para general suggested got implemented. In Gen. Katoch's book he was and still is very critical of Para generals interference in Para(SF) affairs.

That is because you engage a hostile from 80ms with a cross bow with cyanide capsule at the tip, Not so much with 9mm suppressed pistol ..

IA still use such in SF ..

:)...I thought that silenced pistols had replced the cross bows..

the 5th,6th and 7th BTNs AREN'T SF, they don't get the same training or the same equipment and don't even get to wear the "Special Forces" tab.

anyone have more info on this pic? Apparently a joint Indo-afghan training exercise with the Indian desert special forces, according to the facebook caption:
That is a very interesting picture. I am actually interested in beige/tan berets. Afghan special forces are issued Tan berets if I remember correctly, but the camouflage appears to be Indian or very similar to Indian camo. The tan beret to the left seems to be carrying Afghan flag arm patch ?

Yes regular army is green, commandos are reddish-brown, and SF are beige/tan. I think a few of the Afghans are dressed in the black camo, which seems weird considering it is a desert exercise.
