Can you please tell me the difference between Delhi police parakram unit and QRT??
Apache bikes are prety good for policing tbh, have experienced policing on them in the one of the toughest terrains for local police in jharkhand, suspension and seat is kind of stiff but still it is helpful.Any one of the Bikes company needs to make a dedicated cop bike, every police department is buying these kaam chalau version of the commuter bikes.
Parakram units are mandated for anti-terror and other operations warranting an armed response, while QRT teams are small teams of trained commandos for quick response or first respond to terrorist activities. Can you please tell me the difference between Delhi police parakram unit and QRT??
So, its true that Delhi police has both parakram and QRT teams separately????Parakram units are mandated for anti-terror and other operations warranting an armed response, while QRT teams are small teams of trained commandos for quick response or first respond to terrorist activities.
Wait how come normal civil cops also have weapons?? I thought only state armed police were allowed to carry weapons in India in all states!!View attachment 74651
Rifle 7.62mm 1A, INSAS 1B1, Pistol 9mm and 9MM Carbine in one frame, Bihar Police.
note:- the two cops on right side are normal cops and other 3 at left belong to the Bihar Military Police
The civil cops here are a hawaldar, or "major" as we call them, and a sub inspector who is most probably a OC. Anyways, Bihar being a disturbed state, cops from some police stations do carry firearms.Wait how come normal civil cops also have weapons?? I thought only state armed police were allowed to carry weapons in India in all states!!
Yes indeedSo, its true that Delhi police has both parakram and QRT teams separately????
Sounds like the difference in the U.K. between a AFO (armed firearms officer) and SFO (specialist firearms officer). AFOs are basically armed patrol officers with a little bit of added training. They drive around like any other officers but in ARVs (armed response vehicles), they are the first response to any firearms or serious incidentParakram units are mandated for anti-terror and other operations warranting an armed response, while QRT teams are small teams of trained commandos for quick response or first respond to terrorist activities.
Yes, SWAT teams are under police HQSounds like the difference in the U.K. between a AFO (armed firearms officer) and SFO (specialist firearms officer). AFOs are basically armed patrol officers with a little bit of added training. They drive around like any other officers but in ARVs (armed response vehicles), they are the first response to any firearms or serious incident
SFOs are a step above that, they are not normally patrolling and operate in teams for pre-planned raids or responding to terrorists events and large scale criminaincidents.
And step above that are CTSFOs (counter terror specialist firearms officers), they are basically the equivalent of GIGN but not on a national level, they belong to whatever local police force requires them. They are almost only deployed to deal with terrorists events. Afaik only the largest police forces in the U.K. have CTSFOs.
but then there is QRT and SWAT?IIRC QRTs belong to local police stations whereas SWAT belong to the Delhi police HQ?
During OPS you'll mostly find them in black uniform without any vests and comm units, they sometimes work even in khakhi.
Moreover apart from ops they mostly work as PSOs of senior police officials in naxal hit areasDuring OPS you'll mostly find them in black uniform without any vests and comm units, they sometimes work even in khakhi.
Here's a bihar ATS constable with mp5 on duty with a BMP constable at his right View attachment 75399
That's a normal gypsy with QRT markings, nothing fancy, gypsies aren't in shortage.Look closely that's a Delhi Police QRT vehicle that is being vandalised!!!!! Delhi police already has a shortage in decent vehicles now this crap happens!!
