When those missile, IN arm its boats, ship etc. Imp point is - missile. foreign once too expensive and time consuming, but once local available, more vls/launcher in boats, ship etc.
We are not seeing progress that is visible (aka deployment) in any of these areas....no green or brown or blue navy buid up in numbers considering the amount of change that is happening around us. This is just reflection of incompetent leaders and even more idiotic electorate (yes people). Even Iran has a strategy to deter US Navy with what little they got.

Russia to not bid for India’s Project 75I submarine proposal: Reports
“The Russian side has previously confirmed its interest in participation in this programme and suggested a platform based on the design of Project 677E submarine Amur-1650. However, after receiving and studying the RFP finalising terms and conditions of the tender, the Russian side has decided not to participate in the tender for technical reasons,” the ET report quoted a Rosoboronexport spokesperson as saying.

Russia has confirmed that it will not participate in the tender for India’s Project 75I due to technical reasons. They have confirmed that the Indian government has been communicated their decision, as per a report by the Economic Times (ET).

The Russian side has, however, offered to export its Kilo-class conventional submarines. “To reinforce the Indian submarine fleet, the Russian side has offered both supply of new diesel-electric submarines of time-tested Project 636, and supply of Project 877 submarines after their withdrawal from service with the Russian Navy and upgrade,” the spokesperson told ET.

Project 75I is a planned class of 6 diesel-electric submarines at the cost of ₹43,000 crore. In July 2021, a Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued by the government of India for the manufacturing of the submarines under a “strategic partnership” model. Larsen & Tourbo (L&T) and Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) were two Indian finalists shortlisted by the government for the project. For the selection for the foreign vendor, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) (Germany), Navantia of Spain, Naval Group of France, and Daewoo Shipping & Marine Engineering (DSME) (South Korea) and Russia’s Rubin Design Bureau were originally listed as contenders. However, the project has been hit by delays, including Indian and foreign companies asking for extended time to finalise their proposals.

Contenders from Germany and South Korea have raised technical concerns related to liability clauses, transfer of technology (over Air Independent Propulsion system) and budgetary allocations with the government, the ET report further says. TKMS reportedly withdrew from the race last year. .

Looks like more upgraded kilos and Scorpeans coming for Indian Navy.
Two developments - Lithium Ion based battery sustems for Kilo submarines and recent speedup in tube launched cruise missiles should give an indication that we are finally on the right path.
Tube launched cruise missile ? Don't IN already having those ? Just assume it is true, then still the same result with current tender. IN need to drop AIP requirement for making Kilo in. We already tested brahmos missile for subs on other hand we only complected development of aip and li ion and need test and adding vls on sub not a big issue. Majority of idrw articles are 'my take' written with little knowledge.

His logic is right though.
Point 2) yes we are having submarine launched missiles of foreign equipment providers, we are now in advanced stage of developing our own.
Adding a issue or not... His point is right that none other than Korea have that on non nuclear submarine and that it is not that much required for coastal defence as well. We will definitely have them on our ssn's.

I don't read idrw articles, so considering you comments and point noted. I'm only considered kilo. From your points, both koreas having vls subs.
Now the most important point is from your comment 'we are now in advanced stage of developing our own' and it is going to take time and all subs capable of firing it.
Removing VLS is not going to change anything, but aip and li ion will help, but that is not happening. Right now korean subs meet IN requirement, for rest vls is not a issue, but aip or li ion, EU countries can offer aip, russia only vls, korea vls, li ion and aip[eu]. <correct me if wrong>
