Why are French testing Rafale M from Ski Jump in India.
Yanks are doing in US only.
Do French lack a ground based Ski Jump?

I read somewhere that during Cold war, Americans had plan to convert their LHD's into STOBAR carriers by using Ski jumps. That's why they have done Ski jump testing even in 80's.

MDL is making navy ships for ages and after all these time if you say that they don't have capabilities or infra than it is your own brain cells that are fooling each other. And if you read carefully than you'll see i didn't just blame the shipyards only

this is how you create your industry , you need to pump in money and even buy the products that are not upto the specification or shiny , and even if they are more expensive because gradually your domestic industry will start to catch up to international standards , also don't forget this keeps the talent pool and money inside the country rather than just giving money to a foreign country , which is just one way drain of forex.

all the countries which have any credible MIC went through this phase , from not even having the steel plant to make military grade steel to designing and building ships in the country is no small feat and with time we will make even more and more sub components in the country.

have patience mate , this is slow process , if having a credible MIC was easy every country would have been able to do so , it requires lot of time , patience and a spirit of not giving up even in the face of failures.

think of it as tangent , radar waves travel in straight line , so the length at which it make point of tangency is the max range u can achieve , for non OTH radars , if u place them at higher altitude , u can shift the point that point of tangency of that line hence u can achieve much more range

I know that quite well, but Navy will definetly be looking at a 2nd tier AD missile where VL-SRSAM fits the bill perfectly.
Barak 8 is way too expensive to extend the nos beyond 32.
Coming to integration, we might need to pay the Israelies for its integration with MF-STAR.
Addition of 24-32 VL-SRSAM to P15A/P15Bs loadout would easily take the no of VLS cells from 48 to 72-80 and give IN the perfect missile to engage targets upto a range of 50km.

Vl sam uses indian rf fcr. barak 8 costs similar to brahmos or other similar ad ones. MFSTAR is very expensive.
You can compare it with IAF purchase.

Are you joking bro , tech demonstration vessel is built specifically for testing of tech so that it can go directly on warships without any hassle , it is same radar , and advantage is that you can test and remove allthe bugs in it before integration on warship , it is not the radar of ins dhruv , which fits your description

not a problem, considering oth, 600km for non OTH is great and Im not talking about first strike or kill but defending a ship against missiles. SMART-L MM. also maximum range of mfstar is 25km plus againsts sea skimming missile.

Smart l is a old radar , and mf star perform better than that .

The new radar is yet to be revealed so wait for this defence expo at least
