Here’s The Photo Of An F/A-18E Super Hornet Launching From A Ski Jump During Indian Navy Demo Earlier This Year

Noooo...nothing american..especially the jets
F/A-18E Super Hornet Lease is a logical step if Navy is going for TEDBF but I am done with Delta winged aircrafts.

Well well, isn't that interesting... Right after the the news of LCA LIFT being offer to USN. Looking more & now like a quid pro quo deal is in order!

BTW, most important question @patriots is whether F-18 was tested from Vikky?.. Or just a sky-jump demo? It can take-off but can it take off with considerable combat load?

They did some Computer assisted simulations..........
And some shore based testing and came up with some numbers
I don't think Hornets were tested From Vicki Herself

Well then, compared to shore facilities, actual takeoff-load will be always better on carriers in sea... as they can turn to face the wind.

They are leasing them
Maybe buy some off shelf as well
As as a stop gap, because let's face it, although the MiG is a good bird
The navy isn't all happy-chappy about it

I remember even the Naval LCA outperformed the MiG in terms of Availability and turnaround time

Not sure how many remember my post at Defexpo 2020 , When i had conversation with one Naval Aviator who itself was not confident of TEDBF gimmick and said mostly we will see F-18 by 2025-26 instead of waiting that long i feel its better navy push for leasing F-18 options straight away . If TEDBF eventually comes out its great if not we won't have be caught napping again on promises of ADA and HAL.

Why not growlers
Maybe our engineers and scientists can pull off what China does with imported Roosie maal 😏

Also,
Call me old fashioned
But the hornet is one of the s€×iest aircrafts ever produced
Hornet doesn't looks me sexy ...as it doesn't have that spine like structure on the nose

Stupid question yaar.
This might be informative 4 u..

The Compass Call system employs offensive counter-information and electronic attack (or EA) capabilities in support of U.S. and Coalition tactical air, surface, and special operations forces. The EC-130H, EA-6B or EA-18G, and F-16CJ, form the Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD) triad. Programmed upgrades have expanded its mission by procuring a secondary EA capability against early warning and acquisition radars.

Note how the EA-18G Growler is one third of the SEAD triad.

Meaning, it has specific roles/capabilities not found in the F-16CJ or the EC-130H and vice versa. Likewise, note how the EC-130 performs certain missions that you wouldn't normally think of as electronic attack.

So r we going for LM 130H,F16CJ, Growler SEAD Triad? A dedicated EW Command compromising SEAD+DEAD?

We don’t have money for such dedicated systems.
