What is clearly visible is the remarkably well done tumblehome hull on the ships. Pipavav is doing good work!

The mast seems to have taken inspiration from the type of masts equipped on AEGIS destroyers (Arliegh-Burke; Atago; Sejong the great etc.).

Can someone with more knowledge on naval masts elucidate the pros and cons of such masts over integrated masts ??? @abingdonboy

@1:22:40 @undeadmyrmidon @Haldiram, we got a redpiller in the audience. :biggrin2:
He doesn't even answer the question. It's not his fault though. He is being pressurized by the government to implement their SJW policies. When you have a Women and Child development minister like Maneka Gandhi, you can safely assume that national security takes a backseat. This drama of women in the armed forces started when the BJP came to power.

Don't worry about it. Whether one allows or disallows women in the armed forces, women are not going to take up combat roles voluntarily. It's a well established fact that men are the second class citizens who need to be sent to wars to die so that women can become CEOs, IAS, IPS.

The idea of BJP is to show tokenism to glorify women and thereby increase sex ratio. Indian sex ratio is a serious concern.

Ok. Which country do you trust?
Except Russia, I would not trust any other arms supplier. Also, the first priority is indigenous manufacture which is easier for CATOBAR as it is 50+ year old technology

i'd say let this SJW thing play itself out to it's logical conclusion.
at the end of the day it will be men who prefer to join combat roles to women.

This week's IPL matches of both Men and Women on the same day was a good example of difference between abilities of men and women.

The Indian Navy's answer and the laughter afterward shows the true intent of the navy. INS Vikrant U/C can hold 8 women in 1500, all new ships can hold 2 women and going by horny men on long seas, things can get dicey. Indian Navy tried it in the 1990s and it didn't work. The SJW got backhanded and sounded like she was about to cry.

The government can indefinitely postpone this SJW shit but the Supreme Court is a bitch. Those old judges have 0 experience and knowledge but will still mouth off against the forces. That's why the govt. avoids open confrontation and goes for a piecemeal and soft approach. Indian Navy has 500 women, in 2007 - 08, there were 250 and only 5 were considered able for experimental testing. Today number is 10. All the women are on Patrol Aircraft. Recently HC has said no interference in policy decisions by Indian Navy.

The US is quietly killing Obama's policy of W-i-C by having an alternate testing for close combat units by Mattis. They will seek exemptions from current Pentagon policy for recruitment.

https://breakingdefense.com/2018/03/top-gun-for-grunts-mattis-may-revolutionize-infantry/

Plus, now armed forces are broke, so massive modifications for training facilities to accommodate 2 - 4 women will not justify expenditure. Add to the fact Indian Navy ships U/C have reduced crew and more automation and thus will have even lower priority to accommodate females. See how the govt. downplayed Tarini voyage to make it youth oriented. Feminists couldn't get mileage and now are burning.
Track and kill boys! Track and kill.

Commissioning of Fourth Ship of Landing Craft Utility MK-IV

‘IN LCU L54’ (GRSE Yard 2095) at Port Blair- 25 May 2018
Vice Admiral GS Pabby, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Materiel commissioned IN LCU L54 into the Indian Navy today at Port Blair. IN LCU L54 is the fourth Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV class to be inducted into the Indian Navy. The ship has been indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata. The Commissioning of L-54 is yet another manifestation of the country’s indigenous design and ship building capability.

LCU MK-IV ship is an amphibious ship with its primary role being transportation and deployment of Main Battle Tanks, Armoured Vehicles, troops and equipment from ship to shore. These ships based at the Andaman and Nicobar Command, can be deployed for multirole activities like beaching operations, search and rescue, disaster relief operations, supply and replenishment and evacuation from distant islands.

The ship, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Munish Sethi, has a complement of 05 officers, 41 sailors and is capable of carrying 160 troops in addition. The ship, displacing 830 Tons, is capable of transporting various kinds of combat equipment such as the Main Battle Tank, T72 and other vehicles. The ship is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced systems like Integrated Bridge System (IBS) and Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS).

The remaining four ships of the same class are in advanced stages of construction at M/S GRSE, Kolkata and are scheduled to be inducted over the next year and a half. The induction of these ships will contribute to the nation’s maritime security needs and is in consonance with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s drive for ‘Make in India’.
