Suspected body of ULFA-I cadre killed in Army operations recovered from river Burhi-Dihing

A body of a suspected cadre of the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) [ULFA-I] has been recovered from Tekeris Burhi Dihing river today. The cadre is suspected to have been killed in the recent Jagun encounter.

The body was recovered by a local fishermen, near the Majuli ghat as per reports.

It may be mentioned that the Indian Army had launched a massive operation against the banned militant outfit at the Kheremnala-Adarsha village in Jagun, Tinsukia on September 24.

As per reports, a fierce gunfight took place between the Army and the militants. It was reported earlier that two ULFA-I cadres were injured in the firing.

Civilian dies in Noorbagh, Srinagar, militant killed in Anantnag; third gunfight rages in Panzan, Budgam//Internet snapped in all three districts, massive deployment made in Old City

Srinagar, Sep 27: A civilian and a militant were killed in Srinagar and Anantnag as gunfight rages at three separate places in Kashmir Valley on Thursday early morning.

While civilian, Saleem Malik(26) son of Mohd Yaqoob Malik, member of a house where militants were beleived to be hiding, was killed at Noorbagh area of Srinagar, militant was killed at Anantnag while third gunfight is continuing in Panzan, Chadoora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district.

Official sources told GNS that an encounter broke out at Noorbagh in wee hours, resulting into the killing off the civilian.

The firing stopped after some time and it could not be immediately ascertained whether or not militants fled or are hiding in the area where searches were underway when this report was filed.

"A civilian was killed in cross firing at Baghwanpora, Noorbagh during a gunfight while further details are being ascertained and would be shared later," a senior police officer told GNS.

He said that the searches are underway to trace out the hiding militants in the area.
Sources said that the militants managed to escape from the spot.

The authorities also deployed Paramilitary forces and police at sensitive places in old city even as internet has been snapped in the summer capital of the state along with Anantnag and Budgam districts respectively.

In Anantnag, one militant has been killed in gunfight with joint team of forces at Gakisgund, Dooru area in the south Kashmir district.

SSP Anantnag, Altaf Khan also confirmed the incident and said that one militant has been killed in the operation and the body of the slain has been recovered.

He said that the searches are under way.

Sources said that two army men also suffered injuries and have been hospitilized.

Meanwhile, the third gunfight erupted at Panzan area.

Govt forces set slain Hizb militant Sameer Tigers house on fire, father alleges :pound:

Srinagar: The family of the slain Hizb commander Sameer Tiger on Thursday accused the government forces of torching their house, and empty apple boxes at Drabgam village of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.



Muhammad Maqbool, the father of slain Hizb commander, Sameer Tiger, according to reports, said that government forces in the dead of the night sprinkled kerosene on his house and set it on fire. “They also that burned the four hundred empty wooden apple boxes and fodder meant for animals,” he alleged. :troll:

Maqbool alleged that during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at around 2:30 forces knocked the door of their house. He said that fearing the presence of forces outside, he didn’t let his family out. “The forces sprinkled kerosene on our front door and put fire it on fore. They later moved towards the shed and set 400 wooden boxes also on fire, “he said. :fyeah:

Bhat said that they retrieved the kerosene bottles, bandage and masks used by forces to torch his house.

Forces vandalize Property in Kulgam Area amid Clashes

The Locals of Redwani area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday Night accused the Government Forces of vandalizing property in the area.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some youth threw stones on the vehicles of Government Forces who were passing through the area, after which the Army men stopped their vehicles and barged inside homes, vandalizing everything that met their eye.

They said the forces also assaulted many youth, adding that the Forces went berserk and broke the window panes and doors of many houses after they entered many houses in the locality.

“They established a new camp in the area and now they have already started beating people,” a local from Redwani told The Kashmiriyat.

An Army official has denied the allegations. :hmm:
