things are far better on the eastern front than the North. as far as NSCN is concerned, we already are in talks with Muivah faction. khaplang is gonna die sooner or later and after his death, dont see his faction being unified for long. RIP to the brave hearts.

Khaplang died last year and he was seriously well for sometime before that. Unlikely that he was the only one calling the shots.

my mistake. I'm guessing then chinis have an understanding with burmese generals to keep the pot boiling

Massive operation on in Bandipora, 2 Army men injured

June 17: Militants tonight, shot dead a man in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district while security forces operations against group of heavily armed militants continued in Bandipora forests today in which two Army personnel including an officer were injured.
A group of at least 3 militants barged into the house of one Mohammad Iqbal Kawa at Kelam area of Kulgam and fired at him indiscriminately. He was immediately shifted to Janglot Mandi hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Soon after the incident, the area was cordoned off by the security forces and massive hunt has been launched to nab his killers.
Kawa was working in Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and sources said that he was targeted for his proximity with the security forces.
In the meantime, the massive operation launched against a group of heavily armed militants continued today in Panar forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Sources said that there was a brief encounter of Army last night with the group in which Army’s 14 RR Commanding Officer (CO) and a soldier received splinter and bullet injury respectively.
The initial encounter broke out on June 9 when Army’s 14 RR intercepted the group of militants at Raynar forests adjacent to Panar. On June 14, two militants and an Army soldier were killed in the operation.
The operation was launched on June 9 when the militants and security forces exchanged brief gunfight in Raynar forests adjacent to Panar area. The operation with the help of additional reinforcements of Army’s Para Commandos continued and entered ninth day today.
The operation in the area is going on and army has seen at least 8 militants in the forest area with the help of drone cameras. They are tracking their movement.
Sources said that it was a group of at least 15 militants who had recently infiltrated from Kupwara sector and entered Bandipora forests. Two members of the group were killed by Army three days ago in an encounter in which one Army man was also killed.
In the meantime at least 5 civilians were injured in mysterious blast in Manasbal park today. A police spokesman said: “It’s learnt that a low intensity explosion occurred this evening inside a park at Manasbal in district Ganderbal. In this incident 5 civilians sustained injury. All of them were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and are stated to be stable. Police has initiated investigation for ascertaining the cause of this low intensity explosion”.
