We do use MREs, but in a different fashion & capacity than what the rest of the world is doing.

Food ration for the army depends on their location, availability, and mission. For example,

• For soldiers in peace areas, and in relatively close proximity to base camp, food is cooked in a central kitchen and eat it in mess, or delivered to their location using tiffin boxes.
• For soldiers on active missions, and in case you are moving and setting up a kitchen is not possible, soldiers are supplied with MRE items. These MREs are not standard, but they generally include semi-cooked chapatis (which require to be heated), pulavs, and other dishes which need some minimal heating/preparation.
• For soldiers in hostile areas where lighting fire or heating is not possible, they are supplied with candy bars, chikkis, and dry fruits. Again, little to no standardization has taken place, and what and how much is supplied might vary from area to area.

This is an example of standard Indian Army MRE but not sure if this has been made standard in any area.

Their is commercial and political angle.
Most of Indian armed deployment are in Indian territories like Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, etc.
Armed forces and paramilitary uses non MRE local food source and other similar supplies sourced from locals as its is economical(to purchase locally), it stimulates economy of the frontier region integrating it with rest of India and gives incentive to locals to support Indian cause.

MREs are used in remote region like Siachen Glacier.

As opposite to popular belief, we are using SDR since 2006. But here we are talking about HHRS. So people do tend to confuse technology with product.

SDR is technology, HHRS is product.

No. There is a Voice and Data encoder and decoder present. All encryptions happens in it. There was a slang for it.

The diagram you posted is for satellite communication system.
In RFI they have requested for user equipment, base station and repeater ground (territorial) system. Bellow is more appropriate diagram.

Encryption happens between end-to-end communication parties. Encryption takes place using pre-shared Encryption keys and is synchronized via timing signal from base station.

The diagram which I shared is a ground based fixed SDR which we were using since 2006. This one, which you shared, is what we are seeking now.

What do you mean by encoder device?
In SDR or in any network communication device, encryption takes place in application processor or data stream after the audio or video has been encoded in proper format but before transmission over network.
