Not enough opportunities in Nepal that provides amenities that army provides I guess. I would like to see similar data for Navy too, I think southern states get a lot of recruitment from there.

The news mentions only I2 (which cannot be used in daytime), and if its one of those that can also be helmet mounted monocle it would not have any magnification (right?), but would make sense to have some magnification if it's going to be rifle mounted exclusively.
Anyways a small but significant step in the right direction for the much needed modernisation of the infantry.

Yeah that seems rather jugaadu yet suboptimal. BTW how do you "zero" a rifle mounted I2, add a red dot sight? (I think we have seen that setup used by Paras(?) with their Tavors).

These sights usually have a reticle built in so they can be used in a standalone configuration so there definitely will be a built in zeroing mechanism.
