Gernails need to feel the right vibrations coming from the truck, when the gun fires.. Also, the Gun needs to be able to shoot and scoot in under 60 sec... (Part of MI-GSQR, Mission Impossible - GSQR )

In DRDO thread @johnj is asking me why can't DRDO finish trials ?? According to him it is DRDO fault if UN Generals is not ordering Indian products.

What are the benefits of normal ATAGS over MGS ATAGS?
1. MGS can carry ammo along with the gun.
2. Since the gun is towed, MGS can travel anywhere the gun can.

Wanted to ask the same thing. Apart from cost benefit, does buying ATAGS makes any sense over MGS ATAGS? Are there any compromises made to turn the ATAGS into a MGS platform?

If its a mountain, you can carry atags parts seperately and assemble them on mountain, also in some narrow places where truck can't reach

It weights like 18 tonnes, I doubt we can dismantle it in the field into small enough chunks to carry manually.
