Now we are producing Night sights separately to increase the capability of T 90s
First T 90 arrived two decades ago and the last batch a decade ago.
So does this Mean we had a underpeforming hardware for an entire decade and it will take at least half a decade or more to equip them properly.
What if a war had broke out between 2012 to 2022?

Other than that have we sorted out spare supplies issues with the tank

Just want to know how those folks came to know performance difference in between Russian T-90s and Indian? Have they evaluated both by themselves or did they made the assumptions based on some chit chat?

Underperformance or Overperformance is decided based on your opponents capability. Hardware performance wise, we should not have won Kargil as we didn't have mountain artillery like present day M777 to deploy at those heights. Nor we had long range rocket. Nor the basic infantry weapon were of top notch. So when you compare what we had along with what Pakis had, we should not have won that war. Same was the case of 65 or 71.
So to compare the performance of T-90 of two decades back, compare it with that of T-80 of two decades back.

Tanks aren't absolutely top secret tech so they get more than enough coverage. Some indian policymakers and officers themselves had raised concerns about t 90 and a missing night sight for over a decade might just be the biggets blot visible.

And when exactly these concerns been raised? As far as I know after 2011 and then we started working on it. But when deal was made, they knew exactly what they asked for. Why not raise concern then?

No, its not. Achievement is what you have achieved given your position and capability.

Whether you like it or not, but you are doomed to beat the Paki and Chinese dead dog. Just a few days ago one member was crying on the fact that Pakis are getting missile boats. So your fate is intertwined with Pakis and Chinese, whether you like it or not.

I'm assuming loiter launchers can also use ATGM.Even then this is just a modified bmp-2 unless i see active protection system and its own recon mini drone launcher.

TBF, LNT one doesnt have APS either, nor do any ICV anywhere in the world as far as I am aware.

INDIAN ARMY ISSUES RFI TO ACQUIRE 91 HIGH MOBILITY RECONNAISSANCE VEHICLES
Indian Army plans to acquire 91 High Mobility Reconnaissance Vehicles for mechanized forces by Fast Track Procedure under Buy (Indian) category as per a RfI issued.


The HMRV shall have a P/W ratio of 30HP/ton, on-road range of 400 km, protection against 7.62mm NATO ball, a roof hatch for gun mount.

Operational Parameters

The High Mobility Reconnaissance Vehicle (HMRV) will be employed by Command and Recce elements of Mechanised Infantry Units and Armoured Regiments for Recce & Surveillance tasks. HMRV should possess adequate mobility and provide protection for troops on board. In addition, it should be able to carry the battle loads to include weapons, ammunition, surveillance and communication equipment required to carry out mandated operational tasks.

HMRV will be employed for on road and cross country (off road) movement in under mentioned terrain & weather conditions, plain and desert terrain, high altitude (up to 5000 meters altitude) / Mountainous terrain including snow bound areas.

HMRV should be operational by day & night and in commonly encountered weather conditions in above terrains.

HMRV should be a 4x4 Right Hand drive vehicle with all around protection as described in subsequent paragraphs. It should have a provision to integrate surveillance equipment and a weapon mount (mounted on a hatch/ cupola with 360° traversing capability) for bringing down effective fire.

The service life of vehicle should not be less than 10 years/ 1,00,000 km and the seating capacity should not less than 4 including driver.
