I don't understand one thing, everytime I tell a Pakistani about how they surrendered in 1971 than they all say that not all of those 93k POWs were soldiers and that all of them were Civilians and only 20-30k were soldiers. How true is this?
Doesn't matter. Their country lost war, got a significant military capability burnt, got its entire eastern part and even a lot og western part captured and had to sign a surrender letter to get its POWs and western territory back. It's enough.

It has placed US Army Aviation and US Marine Corps air wing over the Chinese and Indian Air Force. The data makes no sense and the calculation is comedy at best.

India arming Russian Mi-17 helicopters with Israeli NLOS anti-tank guided missiles
In a step towards enhancing its firepower against enemy armoured regiments, India is arming its Russian Mi-17 helicopters with the Israeli ‘Non-Line of Sight (NLOS)’ anti-tank guided missiles.

The ATGMs can fly low in mountainous areas and can hit ground targets from distances up to 30 kms, top government sources told India Today.

According to the sources, the missiles have already arrived in the country and are being deployed on Russian helicopters somewhere in the western sector.

The Indian armed forces are implementing the lessons learnt from the Russia-Ukraine conflict where tanks and anti-tank missiles have come into play in a big way. The Ukrainian forces have used the anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the Western European nations and America effectively against the Russian armoured columns, sources said.

India is also likely to deploy these armed choppers in the high mountainous terrain in Ladakh and adjoining sectors where the Chinese have positioned a large number of their armoured regiments

Buy Global, Make in India route is better for the foreign vendor and not so good for India compared to the Strategic Partner route so I guess no foreign vendor wants to transfer any technology beyond screwdriver-giri to India and IAF is more than happy with it since they don't care about technology and want only the birds. We will spend $20 B for these 114 and get almost nothing in return.
20 Bil$ for 114?
36 Rafales costed 9 Bil$ back in 2016 rates.
Do the math.
Also i would suggest not to discuss and give limelight to import news.

How many aircrafts has IAF acquired since 2014? Do we have the number anywhere? Breakup by Fighers/Helos/UAV as well as by Manufacturer would be nice. Any place where one can find this information?
ordered, inducted, upgraded would be a better classification, if anyone is making such a list.

We are working our Chinooks to the bone, and they have been tremendously effective in both North-East and Ladakh. We ought to buy at least ~50 more (4 Squadrons more) of them.
let them age a bit, then we will know their real effectiveness. it's the stable supply of spares that we should be worried about, in this case.

IAF arming Russian chopper fleet with Israeli NLOS anti-tank guided missiles
New Delhi [India], April 24 (ANI): In what could be a lesson learnt from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war where anti-tank missiles have played a big role, the Indian Air Force is arming its Russian-origin helicopters with the Israeli ‘Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) ATGMs’ which can hit ground targets from distances up to 30 km.

The Israeli Spike NLOS anti-tank guided missile is being integrated into the Russian-origin fleet of Mi-17V5 helicopters which can take out targets from long ranges and can prove to be very effective against enemy armoured columns in times of conflict, government sources told ANI.

During the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the reports suggest that the Ukrainian forces have used the anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the Western European nations and America effectively against the Russian armoured columns.

The Indian Air Force had started showing interest in these missiles almost two years ago when the Chinese Army deployed a large number of tanks and infantry combat vehicles close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) opposite the Eastern Ladakh sector.

Earlier, only the western theatre was considered to be conducive for tank warfare but now the tanks would come to play in a big way on both the western and northern borders.

Sources said the Spike NLOS ATGMs have been ordered in limited numbers at the moment and the force would look for getting the missiles in larger numbers through “Make in India” solutions.

The air-launched NLOS ATGMs can carry out strikes at its ground targets from standoff distances and can cause considerable damage to the enemy tank regiments and prevent their advances, the sources said.

Both the Indian Army and the Air Force have strengthened their arsenal significantly through both Indian and foreign weapons in view of the threat faced by the country due to aggression shown by the Chinese two years ago.

The Army and the IAF have been mainly involved directly in the ongoing military standoff with the Chinese while the Navy has been keeping a watch on the high seas against any possible misadventure in the seas. (ANI)
