when we are the second largest arms buyer in the world , why do these issues
still exist??
still exist??
I think you misunderstood his point. He's saying, rather naively I should say, that you send in only the attack helicopters when you spot the enemy combatants and not ground forces, thereby avoiding any risk of friendly fire incidents. You know the terrain between Kupwara forests till Bandipora or Kupwara and Pattan ?
If the terrorists were spotted like like sitting ducks on the ground why would we loose five brave men ? Now you wish to kill them from two km with 20mm cannon !! Wow !!
No uniformed man ever wants to kill his own comrades. That pilot will be damned for his life. He will go mad with PTSD.
The less said the better.
Ok, fine use those when you are in position to do that.... anything that exists must be used .... with IR strobes.... of course!!!Yes and that's where things like infrared strobe lights/uv patches come in real handy.
As I said, do it only when the situation would allow the use of the choppers. Maybe the friendly ground forces in the vicinity can be advised to clear out over the radio network before the choppers go in guns blazing.
And by the way, modern attack choppers can be used in comparatively close proximity to friendly forces as long as they stick with the onboard autocannons, with comparatively being the key word here.
No disagreement there.
Who spots and where is the big question ...I think you misunderstood his point. He's saying, rather naively I should say, that you send in only the attack helicopters when you spot the enemy combatants and not ground forces, thereby avoiding any risk of friendly fire incidents.
And for the nth time, pilots these days CAN distinguish the friends from the foes with a great deal of certainty but only in the presence of proper equipment, which isn't really that expensive at all.
Exit is the first part of strategy .... you must allow the other side some satisfaction of being screwed ....Well, and here comes the exit strategy, when all else fails, seek refuge behind the good old psychobabble ranting, that will get the job done every damn time. Why am I not surprised.

"Compromised the mission" is not a good word for them. it was a bit of bad luck for them. The Para commando himself said that after they were dropped ,negotiating the terrain took a lot of time as snow was till chest level & as two fellow of 1 squad fell in the deep gorge where the terrorist were holed up so subedar & others also jumped as to keeping with leadership values & killed 5 terrorists when the other squad arrived the subedar was on a body of terrorists ,it's very inspiring and also tragic as 2 fellow going down the gorge compromised the mission but can other strategy of using attack helicopters ,drones as well as sealing all exfiltration routes by ground forces work.
Since we all are upset with this bad news that's why we didn't bring these shinny toys in discussion otherwise Apaches are just useless for India many reasonsI am very angry because we lost 5 Para commandos. We should should have used Apache attack helicopters against terrorists since it dense forest. There will be no collateral damange since it is dense forest.
US can’t block India from using Defense Equipment we bought with our money. If Porkis can use F-16s without US approval without any Consequence, Iran uses F-14s even after been enemies with the US for many years, Israel used F-15s over Iraq and Syria without American Support, Venezuela uses F-16s without US approval and Turkey uses there F-16s over Syria without US approval then India can certainly use any US made weapon that we bought with our money on any of our many enemies. If US controlled every aspect of how a normal country can use there weapons that they bought with there money then nobody in the world would buy weapons from Americans.Since we all are upset with this bad news that's why we didn't bring these shinny toys in discussion otherwise Apaches are just useless for India many reasons
They are still shinnying so Cry baby don't want to put them into the mud
They are useless in Himalaya
They also brought under some stringent conditions given by USA ( cant use against Pak )
Apache can't be used against Naxals
Or maybe Elite Army leadership don't want to use Helicopters at all and putting extra suffering to foot soldiers
Gajab ..sawal bhi khud karate ho aur jabab bhi khud dete ho ..I am very angry because we lost 5 Para commandos. We should should have used Apache attack helicopters against terrorists since it dense forest. There will be no collateral damange since it is dense forest.
Nothing of that sort,,,,,,,US can’t block India from using Defense Equipment we bought with our money.
