We can this up in a different thread. MWF will be able to fire Meteor , Astra MK2 and much more. Europeans have on record stated that they dont have any problems mating Meteor with Indian radar. Plus the decoupled architecture or tejas/mwf means Meteor doesnt really need to talk to radar. The only challenge is a decent EW suite which has to work with our radar - something drdo is working on.
All in all - if gripen is chosen then good bye MWF. Anyway geopolitically Gripen doesnt bring any benefits.

Mwf will come by 2026 -27 by then sfdr will be operational. Mwf will have bvr of 340 km range.

Astra mk2 may be operational even before of 150km+ range with dual pulse motor and will arm lca mk1a itself by 2022 also with derby ER.

We don't need gripen Ng . It will cost 200 mil per bird and same / inferior to mwf.

Better buy more rafale .

Primary motive will be to internationalise the issue and draw the attention to the possibility of a nuclear war as a tool for negotiation , right now they don't have any.

If they attempt invasion , it won't be deep but shallow to hold some territory as a bargaining tool but it is another matter if they will be able to invade or even hold some territory . Depends on the speed of response or the preemptive counter measures if detected early by Indian military.

I hope the Indian military is concentrating everywhere and not just LOC
