First thing first this system of encounter based promotion
Army should rewrite the sop, streamline procurement, educate officers regarding new age warfare, ask them to formulate new tactics wrt jungle warfare
Most important and a repeated suggestions from many people streamline procurement atleast if u can't do for big ticket weapons and that's not the point here, do it for infantry ppe
For that the officers providing requirments should be educated with recent developments in this domain
Finally govt it's a complete shit by army but if something has happened then govt has to respond no matter what
Any self respecting country will not accept the death of CO and forget it
And I need not speak about our babus and politicians

the government has entrusted security to the professionals who are botching it on every occasion. Then if the GoI steps in and tries to enact reforms or streamline you hear endless cries of politicisation and destroying the soul of the military from mostly veterans.

I’m just glad the GoI has taken away cantonments from the IA and is streamlining the manpower.

Economic growth should be number one priority, a strong economy = better lifestyle for people, much higher industrial and IT capacity, higher technological capabilities, better institutions churning out better Human Resources etc etc.

Something else to notice- the new camo being issued only to senior officers

In most militaries soldiers are instructed not even to salute an officer on the battlefield, here you have Indian officers strutting around in bespoke outfits to identify themselves (with 0 PPE on of course)
