We are brave people but we still need to sharpen our "Statecraft" skills.

When in doubt, learn from the History and from the former Victors.

Never put too much trust in friends, learn to use enemies.

Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

Can anyone give me a some analysis in case Nepal turns belligerent towards us?
  • How it will affect our ties with Nepal? Will we blockade all supply routes? How about our laws regarding Nepali citizens and vice-versa?

  • Apart from internet trolls, what is the opinion of common Nepalis regarding India? Do they view India as an enemy nation that they will pick up arms and fight against us?

  • If the Nepalese Army is ordered to act against India, cross-border firing targetting our civilians, border checkpoints, and capturing Indian territory, will the military follow it? Or can we organize a coup?

  • If Nepal does become a belligerent state, kill & capture our territory, what options can India exercise?

  • Can we absorb Nepal like Sikkim if it fights and surrenders? What emotions local Nepalis harbour against us, will it turn into another Kashmir?

Military wise Nepal is in no position to even think about fighting India. So let's get that out of picture.
Most of their equipment is our donation. And has barely 1 lakh soldiers.

Economically again we take 65% of Nepali exports while china just 2 %. Most of remittance for Nepal come from India and then we aid them too.

Basically nepal is like India under communists/ Congressi.

Most people are devout Hindus but ruling commie want to make it a chinki vessel.

Also most of nepalis have relatives in India . Madeshi are mostly indian Nepali mixed population which freky move across border.

So most probably Nepali govt will change soon.

Also most Nepali low key won't mind being part of India. They will get far more development that way and won't loose anything in terms of culture / identity.

We probably didn't merge Nepal because it was only hindu rastra. But now when Nepal is turning sikular I don't see why it shouldn't be merged in India.

1. If you wish to understand India's perception in Sri Lanka, just look at the way Sinhalese treat the Tamils and other minorities.
2. If you want to understand the general perception of Indians in eyes of Nepalese (those who matter), just observe the way Paharis treat the Madheshis (Dhotis, Kallus).
3. If you want to understand the general perception of India in eyes of Pakistanis/Bangladeshis.....well, fortunately there is no misconception on either side. Hate and superiority complex is mutual.

This is human nature, we don't learn from our mistakes, we learn from the pain/hardship resulting from our mistakes.

It is safe to conclude that Nepalese need to be punished so that they are made to appreciate the good old days of "friendship" and do a course correction.

However, currently we are dealing with a handful of problems and "One enemy at a time" might be the best strategy. I guess that is the reason behind the deafening silence maintained at out side.

You cannot make friends with fear and force. You cannot win over a country by humiliating them. Unless you are orchestrating genocide to kill them all to the point they do not matter.
Look at us, Mughals ruled over us for hundreds of years, destroyed crucial pieces of history, rewrote them accordingly to the point showing themselves as benevolent rulers. Did we forget & accept them?

You cannot make friends by bribing or pleasing them. They will grow a sense of entitlement, their demands will keep growing to the extent of becoming unreasonable or even harmful, and, eventually, you will run out of stuff to throw at them.

We are having this conversation is English not because British won our hearts and minds. Muslim population in India is not completely a result of "soulful" Sufi campaign. Violence works, it is time tested and proven.

Nothing lasts forever, British empire disintegrated after WW2, however that did not deter them from creating and exploiting one. Love them or hate them, Mughals did rule over India for few hundred years, that is a cold, hard fact.

Few decades of peace and tranquility favorable to India is a reasonable and achievable expectation.

Chinese woman envoy 'inspiring factor' behind Nepal PM Oli's unanticipated stand on map row

Intelligence sources in New Delhi said that young Chinese Ambassador in the Himalayan republic, Hou Yanqi, was an "inspiring factor" behind Comrade Oli's move to change Nepal's boundary, claiming a part of territory in India's Uttarakhand state.

Sources said that Hou, who earlier did a three year stint in Pakistan, was a frequent guest at Oli's office and residence. Besides, a delegation of Communist Party of Nepal, instrumental in drafting the Second Constitution Amendment Bill to change the political map, was in touch with the Chinese Ambassador.
Is OLI honey trapped .. just curious !!!!

There are two types of people in Nepal those who love India (Madhesis thanks to roti beti & business) and other are mountainous people who live in mountain areas & consider themselves superior & hate India especially after 2015 blockade. Only way to get Nepal in line is removal of Oli & commies in Nepal. Nepalis are even more kattar Hindus than us & we should use that to our advantage.
