Guys, your take on this?

Imagine Chinese situation when whole world recognise one China policy still China has been sweating profusely to take on Taiwan.

Chinese are sitting on volcano, the moment China engaged in a long conflict against Neighbour, CCP might at risk of being overthrown by their own population.

China can not afford a war against India. Specially a long war.

It's not copium bro. It's truth! However, I was talking about long term conflict not small one (Obviously China will have upper hand in short time conflicts )

Don't compare China with Russia. Russia is self sufficient country with no internal conflicts while China is not self sufficient and have lots of internal conflicts even inside CCP.

In a war, it doesn't matter how big is your economy but what matters how you going to manage side-effects during war

Imagine if Taiwan was a part of Russia then they would have taken it by next day while China is dragging it's feets since ages.

I don't see China overtaking Taiwan forcefully anytime soon.

since we have a defensive military doctrine, it will always look as if we are behind the curve.

but if we look at data, infra seems to have caught up. since mobilisation of 2 lakh troops did happen in 2020. and now 50k troops permanently stationed there. even if there are gaps, we have to assume they will get filled over time, since intent and spending is there at the top in GoI.
Having a defensive doctrine is fine, its not ideal but fine,
The issue is whether we have long term strategy or not against both micro and macro aggressions.

We seems to be trapped in reactionary strategy wrt policy.

Do you have Any thoughts on that

Since GoI does not have a public document on long term defence assessments, frankly we don't know what they are thinking.

But one thing is certain, if we go by the what is being procured, the strategy continues to be reactionary and defensive.
then again how many countries in the world, take on nuclear nations with traditional military. None. Not even U.S.

Posting on this forum after a long time. I saw the Chinese posted videos of Indian Army prisoners being released long ago and we did not release any pictures of Chinese prisoners. Now the Chinese have released videos and pictures of dead Indian Army soldiers being hand back on Twitter.

I'm definitely pro-India but to an unbiased observer the Indian government narrative of so many Chinese killed and captured without any proof is getting hard to believe with so much photographic and video evidence against it. It's impossible the IA didn't take any pictures as proof and after so much humiliation if we don't release them then how will we defend ourselves in an actual war?
