I guess this upgrade will be continued in 67 UPG's
Its a great plane for close combat. It can particularly be useful in interceptor role. It can be a great bomber as well if enemy sky is cleared from interceptor. Limited rage may restrict its role as a multi role fighter but it can kill anything in close combat. With Israeli EW, Mig 29s of India has become very potent.

I personally believe this war will be fought bin those areas ..it won't be an all out war . ..may be lac will be another loc...
China will not endanger it's population and development for some inhabited lands .....
Also may be this situation will force both the Nation to clearly mark lac with fences .....
may be that is what they are trying to achieve to secure PoK and Karakoram highway.

And answer to the first question & pure speculation from me:

What if CCP is using India for training their troops in battlefield conditions!!

They picked India because it it was any other small country whole world would be against them. In India’s case the left ecosystem in the global media will largely ignore the escalation, as always India is on it’s own.
I seen similar comments on sino forums.

Their military reforms have finished while ours are still in progress.

A limited scale conflict would battle test PLA and show south east asian countries as well as their neighbours whose boss.

A quick decisive battle to humiliate us , not a prolonged war that could potentially drawn in US or other countries.

There are no quick wins for China,
Worse, if they attack us, I fear they won't be winning anything ever.

I visited a chinese military forum.. and can see that they depend on Indian sources for info.. The lack of information from the chinese media, actually forces chinsse citizens to lap up whatever Indian and world media is saying.. this can also be a disadvantage for the chinese..

On the last part.
India should never make an assumption that other countries will get involved on our behalf.

It has been the case atleast since 1971, that major powers believe India can handle things on it’s own militarily.

There may be posturing , weapons being sold & diplomatic help at UN, beyond that there won’t be any “practical help” provided to us.

any sort of military activity will get the ball rolling within PLA, the fact that they faced a considerably large opponent is a good morale booster for their future plans.

i do believe one of the reasons why Chinese understestimate India is this. Given propensity of our left wing dominated media, talking heads and "eminent" people to talk down India's strengths, exagerate its problems E.g. "Thousands died in queues during demonitization" a person from outside if he takes this at face value and get in trouble.
