There is a significant class of people in India especially amongst Politicians, Babus and DRDO who think that soldiers no longer require a good rifle because India has Prithvi and Agni.. They even go to the town declaring there would not be any military Conflict and Army is just wasting national resources...

How wrong they have been proved time and again... again and again.

On the contrary what India needs is a good rifle for the soldier, a good fighter aircraft for the pilot and good missiles as well. Against China, India needs full spectrum capability covering all aspects of a potential conflict. India should not view the China conflict as a border war because as of now, it is a border war for China because India's non nuclear land reach is limited to China's border, but China's non nuclear land reach has a capacity to strike deep into India. Against Pakistan it is a different matchup. On a purely border matchup basis I think India will get the better of China as of now if there is a full scale border war. But that will not make China go away. Just as killing 45-50 of their soldiers did not make them dis-engage from the Galwan valley until talks were held.

No western nation would want to lose Indian market because we tested something everyone knows we have.

India wont even release an official statement... China wants India to be occupied with its smaller neighbors.. but Jaishankar's comment: "The state of the [China-India] border and the future of our ties cannot be separated...We will be tested and we must stand our ground. Part of the answer is for us to also occupy more of their mind space." suggests India will make China deal with it directly, and screw with the chinese directly..
