Bloomberg | U.S.-China Talks in Alaska Quickly Descend Into Bickering | 18-03-21
— "The first high-level talks between the U.S. and China since President Joe Biden took office immediately descended into bickering and recriminations, illustrating the deep divide that remains despite the change in the White House.

Each side sharply criticized the other over human rights, trade and international alliances at the meeting in frozen Anchorage, Alaska. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken vowed to raise concerns about cyber attacks, the treatment of Muslim minorities in Xinjiang and Beijing’s increasing control over Hong Kong.

“The alternative to a rules-based order is a world in which might makes right and winner takes all and that would be a far more violent and unstable world,” Blinken said.

The Chinese fired back. Yang Jiechi, a member of the Communist Party’s Politburo, offered a lengthy monologue in which he said Western nations don’t represent global public opinion and called the U.S. the “champion” of cyber-attacks."

Chinese diplomats deal vigorous counterblows to condescending US representatives; common ground hard to reach on contrasting logics | 19-03-21
— "Unsurprisingly and without any greetings, the world closely watched the China-US Alaska talks turn into an intense back-and-forth within minutes of opening, but the two sides' hardline stances were still beyond the expectations of observers.

Two days of difficult talks were expected to be the best opportunity for the Chinese and US administrations to get to know each other; so far, the US’ aggressiveness and disregard for diplomatic protocol, and rapid and sharp counterattacks by the Chinese delegation, have made the world take notice. Chinese observers said continuing talks despite the intense argument is why this dialogue is so significant.

The US delegation attending the China-US Alaska high-level meeting unjustifiably attacked and accused China's domestic and foreign policies and seriously prolonged its opening remarks, the Chinese delegation said after the meeting's first session. "

gotta admit the Chinks are showing Uncle Sam their place.

yes but that is china's point if you look more deeply. the west lecturing others on these sort of issues is like a whore extolling the virtues of chastity, they have an issue just because it's someone else doing it now. I was happy when Jaishankar made a terse point about the US elections in the india today conclave while saying their opinions don't matter, it is something we should also use to finger the virtue signalling crowd from countries who sit on their pedastools and lecture us on our internal affairs.

Will ask us to buy f15ex . Wonder how india ll react if they ask us to buy f15ex for s400 waiver .
If they offer a deal on pricing and are flexible, we must consider it. It’s an absolute beast of an aircraft. It won’t be connected explicitly to the waiver though.

Chinks know how to use economic and military advantage as a position of strength in diplomacy.

We on the other hand fail to use our economic strength in diplomatic negotiations and pulls out crap like as 'vasudhaiva kutumbakam', 'athithi devo bhabha' and giving vaccine free to asshole nations, and want white man's endorsement.

It appears as though we have just learnt the language of assertive diplomacy. We are in kindergarten where china have already passed out of this school. Giving pissfart nations vaccines is a low risk attempt at garnering goodwill and soft power which actually is small fry for us in the long run.

It doesn’t work like that, America can ground our whole fleet through a sanction on India.
