I agree. Highly unlikely that we would abduct PLA soldiers.
With Pakistan the situation is different.

Reality is there is a power disparity between India and China.
It would be wise to wait for the right time to go on the offensive against China.
Key will be faster economic growth and bridging the gap with China.
Could take at least a decade. Not one year.

The Chinese waited patiently for their economy to get near the US before taking it on.

I believe we will be following a defensive - offensive strategy. Try not to provoke China unnecessarily but retaliate strongly if the first bullet is fired by the Chinese.

An very unlikely scenario is if Washington gives us a blank cheque and assures us total support wherein we can go on the offensive against the Chinese at this point of time.

With China Biden at helm of America and Jinping dictating US policies, there's no chance of that.

Well the fact is that the Chinese are steadily hammering at the lead that the US has got in many economically strategic areas. Like software, the operating system for mobiles, semiconductors, civilian aircraft, defence etc. Huawei has already developed an alternative to the Android os though on a trial basis. 5g is another focus area. The Chinks are building naval ships at a faster pace than the US.

The US cannot take on China globally alone. If they concentrate only on Europe which is their main area of influence and counter Russia there, they risk losing Africa to Chinese investment. So they are stretched economically and militarily.

They need strong alliances to share the burden. Asia cannot be secured without India's backing.

The key is the economy and technological strength. If the Chinese can develop 3 nanometer chips and also fabricate them, it will become a threat to US technology
dominance. Similar would be the case in other areas.

So China is a threat to the US. They can ignore it only at their peril. I think most Americans in key positions appreciate the reality.

I have a gut feeling that we have crossed our perception of the LAC, went to their side, caught some of their boys and brought them back.

Now we are putiing up a facade of just one soldier in our captivity. The usual diplomat speak and BS.

All of a sudden one fine morning, the megalomaniac despot Xi and his looney commie clowns have decided in their info ite wisdom to release our merchant navy sailors . And that too right in cue. Just imagine the kind of leverage we had. We have captured some mid ranking officers too am sure. Otherwise those bastards wouldn't have released our sailors.

They don't know that two can play at this game and Modi just showed Xi who's boss. Xi can now brood sullenly and sent some of his senior staff and his PLA rats to confinement camps .

If the latter is true, I guess that one would not just be any average soldier, might as well be a officer, or one of those guys from the CCP who stay with PLA deployed in war zone in order to ensure that they remain loyal to CCP.
