Read the article it says that the IA is making arrangements for ammunitions that stay for 15 days in case of a 2 front war.
They do this once in a year I think, I remember seeing something like this last time also.
Perhaps this is new scheme to get more (((emergency procurements)))

Now we all know that war nahi hoga :truestory: , it's 2020, who goes to war now :bplease:

This was from Jan 2020, there were more reports that we already have enough stocks for 15 to 30 days war, details can be amiss i read that report long ago.

It's just posturing at most to send the signal to ching chongs and other allies like Australia, japan who are being bullied by chinks.

Good question dude .

Article says it was supposed to be 40 days, but was brought down to 15.

I am guessing additional procurement can be done within those 15 days if needed.
These additional procurements are of the IMPORT HI IMPORT HOGA variety, or will they manage with whatever OFB's mini maharaja's deign to give them?

If not advanced hardware, India should at least work towards being completely self sufficient for most such ammo and critical spares.

By the way, very exciting news if true (not sure if posted here already):

A possible lease of 15-18 units of FA-18 Block III is under advanced stages of negotiation for the @indiannavy I take full blame for sparking a debate about deck lift sizes on the INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant (IAC-1)

It's better to import ammo rather than buying from OFB.

At the moment I agree, but they eventually need to bust the unions and privatize or at least corporatize OFB type PSU's w/ long term goal of becoming self sufficient. Can't go running around spending this type of cash, waiting for imports every time war seems imminent.

Better option is to give contract to private companies.

Oh they can.
War will always seem "imminent" but unless an election is on, this govt can't be bothered to take any offensive actions, like even for domestic matters.
But then the threat of war can be used for more emergency procurements and associated benefits by a certain clique :truestory:
