A lot of BJP walas can sell their country for few crores or few cute girls. I feel they got both in the Bollywood drug case and shut abruptly everything.
yes,
totally agree..
if it would have been congress or someone from congress family, we would have been 45 trillion economy by now and superpower of the milkyway galaxy system. we would be deciding who's next usa president from 10, janpath. not to mention that china will be begging to bailout their economy while usa will be lobbying to buy 13th generation jet fighter from india which can destroy a target in heliosphere.
Let me tell you about something very important; the stereotyping of Politics.
Thanks to the entertainment industry (à la Bollywood), many Indians have developed a deep rooted stereotype that ‘
all politicians are idiots’.
As a person who personally knows many IAS officers who work closely under ministers, I am in a position to see that this stereotype is
not true.
Politicians, for the sake of simplicity, can be divided into 2 broad categories:
Category 1: The politician who became successful due to
family/friend connections (nepotism) and/or due to being a
strongman. This category includes people like Rahul Gandhi. Such politicians are usually
not very smart (although not necessarily). Nevertheless, they
sometimes are fit in some ways to be called
idiots.
Category 2: The politician who became successful
without any nepotism or strongman status, but simply because of hard work + luck. This category includes people like Narendra Modi. Such politicians are
extremely smart, because
if they were not smart, they would not have succeeded due to the stiff competition. For these (initially) unprivileged politicians, politics is like IIT JEE. They succeed only if they’re smart and talented.
This is what I heard from IAS officers.
Still, being smart does not mean being good.
A smart politician can also be corrupt.
What I tried to explain here is that the stereotype of ‘politicians are idiots’ is not at all correct. Therefore,
I really doubt that politicians would sell their country for ‘a few cute girls’,
